Title: Persimmon visitors
Post by: KentuckyTJ on October 08, 2014, 01:43:00 PM
Two weeks ago I stuck a trail cam on a persimmon tree that was loaded and beginning to drop. Went and got the card today. Out of 384 pictures here are the type of visitors to the tree.

Squirrels, Rabbits, Coyotes, Possums and Deer. Other than birds we don't have many other creatures in our woods than this. Overwhelming majority were deer, followed by coons.

What an incredible spot you have there. That last buck sure looks nice! That's probably the entire sample of species in you're area. Very cool!

Nice.  I have a couple persimmons that I put a trail camera on occasionally.  We get the same customers on this side of the river too.  Always interesting.

My persimmon have not started dropping yet here in SW Mo.  We do have a bumper crop.  I have already harvested a couple grocery sacks full of fruit, planning on starting seedlings this winter.  LF

They sure are good and the critters seem to like them. A trail to a persimmon tree sure makes a great October stand location.
