Thinking about a Bearpaw longbow, money is pretty tight these days. Are these shooters or look elsewhere?
I "won" a Bearpaw longbow at Compton this summer. Or should I say I was the high bidder.
I think it was the Big Stick or something like that? It was a little heavier than I shoot and I bought it just for the heck of it and to support Compton. It was a pretty nice bow, shot great and great value for what you got. To me the grip felt great. No bells or whistles and very plain but nice. The finish was just a little gritty. I think if you rubbed with steel wool or very fine sand paper and put a coat of urethane or Tru Oil on it is would look even better. They are relatively cheap in cost but not bad bows at all.
Pete Ward did a long review you can read:

That is just my opinion but I ended up selling mine since I really did not want or need it anyways.
Pete loves em, says they are some real bang for the buck. Can't really argue with a 30 year warranty either. For the price its a bow you don't have to handle like a newborn baby, LOL.
I bought a slick stick from kustom king a few weeks ago. Nice little bow. Comfortable grip, bamboo limbs. Shoots quiet and shock free. The 30 year transferable warrantee is nice too. All for $290 bucks delivered. Hard to beat that. Only thing is the finish on the bow is rough. But I'd say it is well worth the money. I feel I can hunt this bow hard and not have to worry to much.

I have played with these bows a bit at camp, and I think they are great. I like the handle, the glue lines are clean, it is a very well built bow. I can't believe you can get one for less than $300.
I like plain bows anyway, so I may be a little biased...but if this were the only bow I had, I would happily hunt it as often as possible.
