I noticed lately how many of you are using their
stands. If you are in it with a pair of rubber bottom boots and get an occasional squeak how are you addressing it?
What is squeaking? I get some squeaking when the bottom of my boots are wet but that is it. With the open slots my boots seem to dry quickly. Now I also get a squeak when I sit down and it seems if I get the seat lower and sit down evenly it wont do it when I sit down and it never does it when I stand to shoot etc. so i dont worry about it. What is your squeak!!
Like you said, it's when my boots are a little damp as they are prone to be in our swamps. I've heard adhesive non skid tape may work and was hoping someone may have tried it or something like it with good results.
Hep only when boots are wet. But they end up drying fast
No slip tape is a must on the platform. I dont know about the squeak but i know my platform was to slick with wet boots before i put the tape on
I would put the non slip tape on if anything just for safety.
I use the neoprene mat they make for the platform. keeps my feet a lot warmer, dampens any sound at all, and keeps any mud or ice from falling through the cracks.
problem solved!
I use the 3m tape its black and feels like sandpaper. It comes in rolls just peel and stick. Works great. You can find it in your local hardware store.
Johnnyk71 Do you get any squeaking from the neoprene? I always found that stuff is squeaking under my boots when twisting on it.
I agree with Johnyk71. The mat that Summit sells is quiet and insulates your feet. I am happy with mine.

the mat that I use has a fleece layer on the top side that keeps it from making any noise at all. you mount it with the black neoprene side down, and the fleece on the part you stand on, and it's completely quiet. if I recall, though, at one time those mats were on closeout, so they might not still sell them. i'll check. can't imagine why they wouldn't keep them though. they're great!
nope, they still sell them.

Thanks for all the info.
I haven't gotten to use my new Summit enough to make a squeak yet, but I sure am liking it so far. I think I'll take the advice on the no-skid tape for the platform. Guess we'll see about the squeaks...
