I have been hunting from the ground more and mor and like to use multiple ground blind sites. I need a quick and easy set up. I don't like the military style netting that resembles cut leafy material as it is far too hard to untangle in the dark. I have bought several of the mesh netting materials and all are far to see-through. I plan on brushing in a little so I need somthing that wont tangle on every little limb/stick.
My question is - Anyone know of a good material that is light weight, tough and is not so easy to see through that would make a good portable blind material. Open to suggestions.

And it comes in different camo patterns also. If you know someone that has a heavy sewing machine you can get a sleeve sewn on each end. Slip a heavy aluminum full length shaft in each one and one in the center to form a ^ shape and your good to go.

Dave, I think you'd do better with just a pair of lightweight pruning shears and cut branches and sticks.
I considered burlap but can't get past the smell of new burlap - perhaps for next season it will work.
Reddogge - I do plan on pruning and brushing in the stand but want to remain mobile. The material is to keep movement from being seen below the waist especially when turning to make a shot.
After a lot of thought - I am ordering some polyester/cotton twill in Mossy Oak Breakup pattern. It's light weight and will hide everything behind it. I will add some true leaves to it for 3d effect. I do plan on sewing three tubes in the material for the poles to slide through. I will also use three aluminum tent poles to make the V and then I will use zip ties to secure some pruned cedar or pine branches to the poles. Will also brush it in with a few dead limbs.
I'll post some pictures when I get the material and get all the kinks worked out. My goal is for a very mobile set up to use with my Waldrops packseat and ghillie.

I routinely am close to deer (and sometimes even kill them :bigsmyl: ) hunting on the ground in plain OD Moleskin pants, and a plaid or grey Asbell wool garment. I bet you would do just fine with your Waldrop seat and some pruning shears...
Yes the ghillie works alone - took a deer at 17 yards last year. However, I want to build a small blind that will cover movement when turning to make shots. I hunt public land and the deer are pretty dailed in to any sort of movement. Just looking to make an effective system even better.
could you get some netting from say Hobby Lobby and tie in material like the burlap and jute twine?. I've made a ghillie suit this way once. you could attach it in certain places to stakes so you could set it up, you wouldn't need much and it would probably work well with a ghillie.
I build all(multiple) of my ground blinds using natural material, ie, branches, leafs and grass before the season opens. I also wear a ghillie suit while hunting in the natural ground blinds.
Found what I was looking for - Hunters Specialties Mossy Oak Camouflage Leaf Blind Material. A little paracord and some pruners and I should have a pretty mobile blind that isn't a beast to carry afield. Think I will add some sneaky leaf and articial fern leaves to it. A little brush in front and it should provide just what I need to conceal any movement.
