Title: SKOOKUM QUIVER's and skinny carbons
Post by: Seeking Trad Deer on January 22, 2007, 06:43:00 PM
Does anybody know if the Skookum quivers from Alaska Bowhunting Supply work with the soda straw thin carbon arrows (Axis, Beman MFX, etc.)?

I've never seen any quiver work with the skinny carbons without being purposely designed for it, so I'm doubting it on the Skookum.  Anyway I wanted to suggest you contact 2fletch (Don Ward) maker of the EFA Mini quivers.  The EFA is IMO a better quiver, and I'd bet Don would be happy to make you one special to fit them if he doesn't have one already.

They're on the Sponsors list, Eagles Flight Archery if you're interested.  Good shooting!

I love my Mini and wouldn't consider any other bow quiver at this point, after many years of Selways and others.

put a rubber band around the holder to take some of the area up nside the holder it will make the arrow really snug

to my knowledge, Great Northern is the only Co. that makes an arrow gripper just for those soda straw carbons.
my 4-arrows skookum works for shafts no skinnier than 11/32's. even 5/16 carbons like Goldtips fit a bit too loosely on it

I have an Eagles Flight Mini and no problems with the skinny Bemans.
