After sharing my enthusiasm toward my new Bloodbrother longbow made by Scott Rentschler of Volga, Ia., my brother Jeff decided he had to have one. We were lucky to get some great veneers and riser wood from Curt at the wood vault and quickly sent them to Scott. Jeff wanted some sheep horn added to the bow, so he sent Scott some horn he had from a recurve harvest from years ago. He decided on 48 @ 28, 62" with walnut crotch riser wood and some gorgeous myrtle veneers. He opted for bamboo cores, of which Scott carmelized so it would blend in better. Some blue highlight stripes and a black and blue string and Jeff was elated with the results. Scott is quite the craftsman!! We shot last night and this morning until our arms were screaming. These are definitely sweet shooting longbows! So here are a few photos....I think you will agree its a keeper for sure.

This last photo is both our Bloodbrothers side by side. Mine was also a 48@28, 62", bocote limbs and cocobolo riser! Now if we can just get em' a little bloody....can't wait!

Very nice!
PS- Just a quick plug for Big Jim's side quiver pictured with the bow. I absolutely love the quiver, it is much more comfortable for me than a back quiver, incredible quality with the leather, stitching, and strap. It fits great and arrows come out very easy by just reaching to your side. If you have ever considered one, don't hesitate to purchase, they are great!
Scott does great work.Have a safe hunting season.

Beautiful Bows!!!!!
Damn. As much as I love snakeskins, I would never think of covering such gorgeous woods.
Great bows and great pictures to show them so well.
Love the turquoise accents
Beautiful bows! Scott really makes some nice bows, and his "Stumpbuster" arrows are great also.

Great looking bows. Think I'm going to have a look at big Jim's quiver. Looks nice to me.
Those are a couple of lookers! You don't see that color of accent stripes very often but if looks really nice with that combination of woods, well done!
