So I went to Conrads book to see if he could answer my questions but I couldn't find it last night.
I was putting together some arrows and was wondering how the arrow flight would change as I moved the fletchings forwards or backwards on the shaft. Has anybody messed around with this?
I would assume the farther back the fletchings the more it would correct the flight right?

This is correct as I understand it.
Yes, but moving the fletching forward or backward a quarter- or half-inch isn't going to make much difference in practice. Most position the feathers where they will have adequate clearance between the tail end of the feathers and the fingers on the string. For most that's about 1 1/8 inches from the throat of the nock, give or take an eighth inch.
