A clean miss is still a good day. Could've been worse. Of course, could've been a lot better. May your arrow be bloody next time.
Better luck next time! Glad you had a good time and got out to enjoy the hunt. Our season doesn't open until the 1st, and I have to work, so I probly won't get out until the 3rd or 4th. Seeing these threads is killing me!
Don't worry about it, everyone of us has missed. You are getting closer, and I think you will get it done this year.
You might have missed but it takes a heck of an archer to hit a piece of wood that small in diameter! Lol
Nice Morning TW. Keep after them, It seems like you have found a good spot.
Now your ready!
You got a shot, that's huge..keep at it!!
Keep after 'em TW! It will happen!
Good luck!
Bisch
Thanks everyone! This is the same area as the first five I reported on. Been seeing does but, have yet to see a buck. I know they're there because I've seen the tracks.
Nothing to be sorry for........keep at it. I have been trying for a lot longer than 8 years.
That's a mighty nice stick ya killer there  Keep at it and they will come, have fun ...
Great story!!! Sorry you missed, but the fun was still there
Gosh darn! I've been following this story for some years now, and I thank you for letting me be part of it.
I admire your commitment to do it YOUR way! It will happen; I have no doubt.
Keep after'em!
I feel it, this is your season
If someone tells you they haven't ever missed, they haven't hunted enough :) congrats on a good day in the field. I still haven't had a chance to get out yet
Cleaning up the hunting gear and getting ready to head out again in the morning. Should I try and give this area a rest or do ya'll think it will be safe to go back in there so soon?
Your not the first to miss your first or any other for that matter, but you are that much closer to filling a tag this year, good luck to you !!
Misses are experience.
I know that this is going to be your year.
Try it with garlic and hot sauce might be good :) . We all do it . If we never miss then we would never know the fealing of a great shot ( think about it )
Doesn't sound like you did any damage. I would be right back in there myself. Best of Luck

I admire your efforts, first shot in 8 yrs doesn't give you much experience, I'm VERY experienced at missing! Why so few shots, maybe a new hunting area would be better.....
good story, I like reading about the misses "almost" as much as I like reading about the hits!
L.R.
we all learn somethign from a miss, just one more thing out of the way and like someone mentioned a clean miss is a good miss doesn't have that sick feeling in the stomach that some of us have felt in the past.
I haven't gotten my first shot off yet, but looking at yours I call it a success.... At least you found the Arrow.
I chickened out on a skwerl last weekend, just cause I didn't think I was getting the arrow back if I was slightly off. Threw the creep on one doe and thought she threw me, just to step on a stick and hear her squirt across the river an extra 25yrds bellow.
I, sir, am excited about your miss. Could be better results, but already better than where I am at and closer to where I hope to be this evening or tomorrow morning.
Good hunting, god bless, and good luck!
QuoteAt least you found the Arrow.
Me too, those Arrow Dynamics don't come cheap!
You got your deer permit's worth of fun! You'll get the next one. As for heading back to the same spot, I try to vary my hunting location as much as possible, so I don't cause the deer to alter their normal movements.
Thanks, I am heading out in a few and thought that might be a good idea also. I don't want to much of my scent all over and wanted to give them time. Got another area I hunt and will head there.
 :archer2:
They out flanked you....LOL.
It's good to get the blood pumping with a close encounter like that. Now that you got the bad shot out of the way, you're ready to bring home the venison!
Good luck!
Keep after 'em Lanoy....You've got plenty of arrows!
I have more misses than hits. last year I missed a buck of a life time by a hair, But more fuel to keep at it. Hang in there. Sounds like you did not spook the doe.
Good luck this year, and keep us posted.
