the bow
Whip 36# at 29
arrow Easton 1914x7
so I started to put all number on the calculator and came up with a perfect 55.5 to 55.5
printed the calculator page
cut 3 arrow to try and they shoot just great, like darts so many of you say
went back to the calculator because I wanted another print so punch in all the same data and it came back about 20 difference
check recheck from the already print page and all the same
redid the calculator page and same thing....
OK so its a computer glitch but what puzzle me is that the arrow shoot great.....
this arrow is according to it is much to stiff for my bow
any Idea what up
All I can offer, is that Whips are cut to center and will shoot A LOT of arrows just fine...especially when you consider the fletching.
this is my first bow
been shooting it for 6 months
and all I can say I love it
getting good groups at 20 yards
my form has improve a lot
now I have the choice of etheir carbon express heritage 75
and easton 1914
think I will go with carbon express 25 gr. lighter with same components
will try both at 30 yards and see which one dips the less
Does that calculator have a Personal Form Factor, like Stu Millers calculator? If so, were the numbers the same in that entry both times?
I use Stu Millers calculator, and with the PFF set to different numbers, there can be a vastly different outcome!
Bisch
I saw that site Stu Milers
but could not quite make it out
will have to take a look again since I have gain some experience....
Bisch the 3 Rivers version of the Stu Miller calculator does include a box to add a personal form factor...as we always say the dynamic spine calculator gives us a great theoretical starting point...in the end we only shoot real arrows
DDave
Dave , the box for the form factor is there on the 3rivers version. at the bottom.
Well, I have read a lot of posts by guys saying that the calculators give them way too stiff setups. I use Stu's calculator, and once I got the PFF set for me, it seems to always give me a result that is nearly dead on. There is always some final tweaking to be done, but close enough to shoot without the tweaking if I was not so anal about it. Maybe I am on of the "lucky ones"?
I know all the info entered has to be spot on to get good results. If you are 1/16" off on the center cut entry, it can really mess things up.
I am also a guy who does not change much. I am NOT a tinkerer. So, I am almost always looking for something in the same ballpark.
Bisch
When I tune I do it in a friend's basement initially...we both tinker all the time and we find strings the most important ingredient in the mix...the calculator allows for different string diameters but does not reflect the wide range of materials currently available under the broad heading "Fast Flite"...we find all we need to tune effectively is a whole bunch of different arrows and strings handy
