This is going to be an intresting year in the ozarks.Lots of squirles and deer but very few if any acorns.A late freeze killed nearly all the mass.Tomorrow I'm going to kill a mess of squirrles and set my stands up close to persimmons, fields and heavy browes.season opens monday here in arkansas and I have tusday and wednesday reserved for harvesting deer.I seen ayear like this about 15 years ago.Makes for a lot of deer killed and a intresting season. :bigsmyl: :campfire:
We've got plenty of acorns in my area. I guess its considered the northern portion of the ozarks. Can't hardly walk with out crunching acorns
I'm surprised.Maby our acorns were further along when the freeze hit.All of our squirrles will be coming your way.
We lost almost all of the white oak acorns, but the red oaks dropped like mad this year.
Same here no white oak but the red oak sound like its raining in spots.
The acorns are finally falling here. Seemed a bit late this year. How ever, it is better to have isolated trees dropping mast. This causes a better concentration of deer in certain areas. This is what is happening in some of my little hunting spots.
