I decided to spend the day in a treestand on my family's property in Northern Delaware since things at work slowed up for me this week. I also been wanting to try some new scent that I been curious about. After checking the wind, I made my way to my stand early this morning about an hour before day light. When dawn finally arrived I noticed movement immediately noticed off to my right with 2 bucks emerging from the thicket about 40 yards away. They fed their way down towards the creek, getting no closer then 30 yards. They was about a year and a half year old bucks. About an hour later 2 does, along with 4 fawns made their way from the creek to directly under my stand to where they camped out for about 30 minutes. Then around 8:45AM I had movement off my left again with a lone old doe heading right for me. I kept looking behind her for fawns and by the time she was with in range I seen that she had no fawns and was alone. Just what I was looking for. At little over 20 yards, I drew my bow, released my arrow,,,

Great shot! Congrats!
Thanks everyone. I owe a special thanks to my wife, family and friends on here, (Tim & Craig), who helped me through a very frustrating time last year when I shattered my ankle on September 29th 2013. Tim, who helped me get me back on track with my bow and Craig's pep talks. And my brothers who used a deer cart to get me back out into the woods with a shattered ankle. It was a humbling experience to say the least and reminded me to keep it simple and have fun.
Congrats!
Beautiful Doe. Congrats! :clapper:
John, nice doe
I use to hunt Upper Delaware an lower PA before I moved. It is nice that you still have a private place to hunt. Every time I go home, I cannot believe how much it has changed.
It sure has Tim A. It seems to have more and more people and neighborhoods popping up every day in Northern Delaware. My family & I have been truly blessed to still own a substantial sized property in Northern Delaware that's been in our family for several generations but it seems its getting closed in on.
Nice job Brother!
Congrats to you. Nice deer!

Nice shooting! Beautiful deer and I love the looks of your Talltines. What finish is that on your bow limbs? Looks like some kind of camo pattern or is that wood grain?
