Now that our favorite hunting area is closed, Staci and I have some free time to get some fishing done. Since leaving my bow home is so difficult, I decided to take it with us! ;)

You guys got some awesome pictures from that fishing trip. I really liked what I saw on Facebook/Instagram
Thank you Scott!
It's amazing how smart these fish are... I need to stalk them like I'm actually hunting. The fish and game on our island are extremely educated!!!

First shot of the day...

and first miss of the day... :D
Spotted a few more reef fish from a vantage point.

Lining up another shot.

Trying to get closer. At full draw again.

That didn't work out either, so I had to beef up my sun protection and head as close to the fish without actually swimming with them.

Although I didn't connect, I did have a blast! The skittish fish and ocean surge sure made it challenging. It's a good thing that Staci brought her fishing pole. If not, we wouldn't have had any fish for dinner!

Beautiful. Might have to make that trip someday.
ChuckC
wow! Beautiful is an understatement so when can i come enjoy Hawaii with you??
Ryan, I think I see your problem, you're not wearing any camo or is that tourist camo
Seriously, which reef fish are you after? I am also a diver though almost always in marine parks so have never had an opportunity to spear anything but Lion fish.
Thanks Gang!
Daniel, if you're ever in town, let me know!
LOL Pete!
Here's a snap shot to what we have here. For the most part, all of are reef fish are edible and tasty! ;)

I've always thought parrot fish should be on the menu someplace, they sure get big. I have also heard that hog fish are some of the best eating.
Parrot fish are definitely targeted here in the islands!!!
I don't think we have those hog fish here, but I have heard they're great eating (if it's the correct fish that I'm thinking of).
I was just glad you weren't in Finland from the title of your thread! Haha! Looks like fun!
LOL Steadman!!!
You sure live in a neat looking place Ryan!
I'd love to visit there someday!
Good luck next time out!
Bisch
It's so cool to see pictures and threads from very different places... Thanks Ryan and I've said it many times... love your videos brother! Thanks for sharing through them.
Thank you James!
Just let me know when you're coming Bisch!
You are so Lucky! :D
Wonderful Pictures!!
They aren't "smart". Where's your fancy camo!?
Looks like you had a blast!! BEAUTIFUL PICS RY!
Salt water bowfishing is da' bomb! Just got back from Cedar Key, FL late Saturday night. We were after stingray, but neither the weather, tides, or rays cooperated so we wound up rod fishing for redfish. Had a blast, brought home a bunch of fish, so it's all good. Already talking about next year's trip.
Thanks for the great pictures! This is on my bowfishing dream list!
Spanish hogfish is some fine eating! they are a Caribbean species, though.
Thank you for all the kind words!
Awesome Chad! Spearing one of those stingrays must be a blast!!! I'd also love to try gator hunting one day!!!
Aloha Gang! :shaka:
A few guys asked me about my new set up, so I filmed a quick video.

Aloha!
Awesome brother!!!
Hog fish is Great eating. Here in Florida we get some on restaurant menus occasionally. They're line caught or speared fish, not net caught, so the supply is never very big unless you DIY.
Stunning hunting grounds, thanks for sharing Ryan!
Your welcome Gang!
