I have a little shooting range set up behind the house in the woods out from the barn. I have about 4 different deer 3d targets without antlers. It seems the antlers always came off, well I remember a few years ago one of my targets getting brutally attacked. I placed a food plot in part of the farm in which would bring the deer past my little range. Back during our NC state shoot, I bought a Reinhart Booner buck from Big Jim and set it up on the range. From April til about 3 weeks ago, his antlers stayed set on his head fine. Now, every time I shoot, someone knocks his antlers off. I took my reconyx camera and set a camera trap on my target today. I will post pics if I find the culprit.

This could be good:)
:coffee:
My father called me one day and said "Why would you do that to my target" and "can I have the antlers back"
I told him I have no clue what he was talking about and he proceeded to tell me that his deer target was knocked down and broken into the three different parts and strewn all over his yard. Our only theory was a buck came in and gave it hell at night. I thought it was funny my father didn't. LOL
My hunting partner has two r&w doe targets set up,coming out of the woods last year we spot a spike 15 yards away mounting one of them twice, left a deposit the second time :saywhat:
Go get 'em Tim!!!
What deer would attack a Booner buck. He has tine marks on his neck and the only deer I have on camera are really small so this guy must have some attitude. I got up this morning and looked, day one and the antlers are still on.
Does the crime scene look like this?

This is the best pic we have of the Culprit.

Funny part is my dad and little brother were having lunch not 100 yards away in plain view and missed the whole thing.
:campfire:
Couple of years ago I had a buck trash my 3D.
Looks like you need to set up a ground blind right in those trees.
Well I caught him

He has horned his face and neck with his spikes. Pure attitude.
A Boone and Crockett Spike! Awesome. . . :bigsmyl: :clapper:
 He just needs to borrow the antlers to impress the ladies!! LOL,,,Great detective work!!
"Cock of the Walk", huh??? Great thread. Thanks!!
I'm thinking this fella is gonna have WAY too much confidence when it comes time for him to tussle with the other (real) fellas in the neighborhood....! Lol
Cool pics!
homebru
Needed this! :biglaugh:
Lol... that was great!!!
I don't laugh a whole lot, but a got a real good belly chuckle there!
I was expecting a much larger buck!
That's too funny Tim!!!
 :dunno:
"I can get his antlers off easy enough, but how do I get'em on me?"
Great stuff, I have had the same thing happen. At the end of summer. I put the horns up and shoot a doe target.
That little guy certainly has delusions of grandeur, but he does not lack attitude. Let him grow - if he has the genes to match that attitude, he may be a really big deer before too long.
I had a target that got whacked in my yard this way, but the culprit was a true trophy. I guess living in town, within 1 block or so from the middle of town allows an easy lifestyle for this buck.
LOL!
he is going to get a big ego boost off beating up your deer and will try that with a big ole buck and get a real surprise !
