Ok, guys sorry it took me so long to get back to this. My buddies have been giving me heck all night and all morning....something about walking around with a gold horse shoe up my butt. I have no idea what they are talking about. This was a case of pure skill....LOL. Anyway.... this past year I got a Fred Bear Take Down that I really like, Its a 2014 two-tone model. I got a pair of aftermarket limbs from Brandon Stahl over at Rose Oak. They are #2 - 48lbs. Makes a 62" bow on the B riser. I have been really impressed with the performance of this combination. It shoots faster than many of the other custom bow I have owned that were more poundage. I really like how quiet and smooth it shoots. The best thing of all is that I can shoot lights out with this bow and guess that's all that matters.

I set this ground blind up back in July. Its between a beaver pond and a very very thick pine thicket. It forms kind of a funnel at this point. I wish I would have taken a few pictures of the outside so you guys could see it, but I was really trying to stay out of the area as much as possible to avoid spreading my scent and alerting the deer that I was in the area. Here are a few pictures from inside the blind. I know a lot of you guys use natural cover, but I really like the pop ups. I buy the cheapest ones I can find and I leave them out all year. I really like to brush them in and I leave the screens in. I have had really good success over the years doing it this way. So far I have harvested 4 really good bucks doing it this way.

In that first picture you can see a fawn that came in on Friday. You can see how close they get when they come through. The closer the better in my book. Anyway about 6:45 I spot movement about 80 directly in front. It was a small 8 point. I could see 2 other deer but could not tell what they were. They disappeared in the brush but knew they would reappear in just a few minutes so I got ready. They walked in a single file line about 12 to 14 feet right out side the window. The last one was a shooter. He stopped quartering away. You could not have drew it up any better. I drew hit my anchor, held for 2 or 3 seconds focused on my spot then I let her fly!
About the time I let go the deer took a step forward. I was thinking "Crapp" Shot was back about 6 " from where I intended.
Well the deer scattered they had no idea I was in the world. I kept my eye on the one I shot. He ran about 60 yards straight out in front of the blind and stopped. For a few seconds it looked like he was frozen. I grabbed my binoculars and I could see blood pouring out of one side, I knew then it was only a matter of time. He finally twitched his tail a few times and fell over. I was so excited It took me a few minutes to gather myself. I had just shot a big buck at 12 or 14 feet. For you guys that have not hunted from the ground before you don't know what you are missing. I didn't get a lot of good pictures of this hunt. By the time I drug him out and got him back to the house is was dark. Sorry for the bad pictures. Oh one more thing, I saw this deer last weekend and he had a 4" G3 on his right side that had a sticker. Sometime this week he broke it off. But I dont care I am on top of the world right now! 2 good deer in 2 weekends! Thanks for coming along!

I think your friends are on to something with that golden Horseshoe theory. Congratulations!
I like seeing your bow set up too. I just bought a used set of Rose Oak limbs for my Bear Green Stripe riser. Can't wait to play with them.
Congrats Scott! Another fine NC buck! Was that a shark attack? What are you going to do for the rest of the season?
Yep it was a shark attack. I used the land sharks for years and years. Last year I switched to the tiger sharks. I have had pass throughs on 6 deer in a row. I sharpen them using the razors edge tool with the 3 sided jewl stick. They are crazy sharp.
Nice buck, congratsulations! :archer:
Really good. Congratulations!
