Is anyone else ventureing out tommorow for the early doe hnt amongst the youth hunters?
nope, we are still recovering from ehd 2 years ago in our area.
I turned down many for hunting up at my lodge because I didn't think it would be fair to tell others it's bowhunting only but have the deer in the bean fields shot at with guns. It was tough to do and unpopular. I felt bad but I told them if they were to bow hunt it would be o-k. It's easy to just blast one up there with a gun. So far no one is hunting the area. I can't understand this because if you seen the herd you would be excited.
wish i was perched up in the stand on the bean field with the long bow tommorow
The wind is howling today, with sporadic showers. I hope to get out tonight, and tomarrow. I like to get out and sit in a stand, and make sure that I've got everything in order. It's a nice practice run, to get back into the swing of things before the real season begins.
Went out this morning and had to be mobile with the wind swirling. Came to a likely spot along a trail leading to a bedding area and could hear occasional movement. And then the guns go off on the adjacent property. Not a problem until a shot whistles through the leaves not thirty feet away. Figured it was time to head in at that point for breakfast and a cold beverage.
Not open for our unit, 83, didnt break my heart any.
it was not a good morning. windy rainy and no deer movement
