I was blessed to be a part of this presentation to Mr Lamb for his contributions to traditional archery and bowhunting.

Thank you to James Berry(JD Berry Archery) and all of the good folks who own and shoot Berry bows.
I am so glad I got to be a part of this!!
God bless,Mudd

Leave us hanging and drag it out lol
Charlie - THANK YOU for all you've done for bowhunter's and bowhunting as well as for Trad Gang. Enjoy one of James' finest!
I will share the letter I put in the box to Charlie with you guys.
Mr. Lamb,
I hope you are having a good day, Because it is going to get worse!
This is a bow that I cant sell, But hope you can use it. It is our way of saying thank you for all you have done for Bowhunting and Archery.
From all the guys that are
stuck with shooting Berrys
and don't know any better.
Wow, what a great gesture from James Berry to a good guy. Charlie, enjoy that bow; JD makes some real winners.
I really like the pic. of Mr. Lamb sitting on the tail gate, Looking at the box. You can just hear Charlies thoughts "How cheep can a guy get!!" ..OE
Congratulations to Mr. Lamb and I've got to say that every post JDBerry makes has me in stitches....
Joe
More close up pictures of the bow please. She looks like a beauty!
I like your shirt too Charlie! Thank you for your service.
Charlie is the real deal! Thanks to all who participated in this thing!
So cool. Thanks Charlie, for all you do!
Jake
James is like Charlie.....one of a kind. Both are men that many hold in high regard.
Way to go guys. I would have participated if I'd known something was up.
Hey Charlie, you look great and healthy. Keep it up!
Congrats Charlie!
Enjoy that stick!
Jon
So James, was that a good thing or a bad thing about us berry addicts?? I'm confused, I guess I'll stick with a Berry LOL
The Vixen came in at 53 1/2# at the end, I thought, well I can mark it 53# or 54#. Being Charlie is getting really, really, really old, Id better write 53. See if that gets Charlie to say something! ..mE

James - was that some of that rare Sunbear Myrtle?

That highly figured stuff?
Very!! You can see all the chips glued in tight
I also heard James will start offering some really cool colored glass . Red , green , orange, blue. He said something about Krylon company and endless colors for glass. I'll look them up as I haven't heard of that glass manufactuer. :)
Green, Yes It is SUNBEAR Mrytle, A highly prized wood of MR.Lambs. The way I understand it is, It is kept deep in Charlies shop, Protecked by 3 Grizzlys and one skunk.
This piece of SUNBEAR Layed on Danial Boones Coon skin cap for 29 years, ONLY to be touched by three virgins once a day to turn it over gently by moon light. How did I get it? Mudd told me about this rare piece, and some how got it(but he still smells of skunk) shipped to me by a team of Ten Great Danes Took all summer to get to the shop, I got it, Wacked it up, Stuck it in a bow. Saving the saw dust for Greens limbs. ..OE ME
Charlie,
Be careful with that bow. My Morningstar evidently frightens elk into leaving the country, so it could be that your gift will be a deer repellent. Just thought you should know that before you use it.

Seriously? Sunbear Myrtle Sawdust limbs? God I hate to think what you're gonna charge me for that upgrade. Clear Gordon glass with streaks and bubbles just like the last one, right? And pet those Danes for me would ya?
Hey centaur, Have you herd that Washington St, has gotten more Elk Lately, THANKS!!!!! ..aemjs
I don't know a more deserving recipient.
 :clapper:
Congrats Charlie, another beauty by OE! James you are a piece of work yourself, I cannot wait for mine
The truth of the matter is this isn't about the bow, Mr Berry, Brain,Rob, me or anyone other than "The Man" .
It's 100 percent about a man who has been such an ambassador for traditional archery and bow hunting.....Charles T Lamb
Mr Berry has been a fan of Charlies for years, ever since he had the chance to handle and shoot a couple of bows made by Mr Lamb that came through his shop. One for a new leather grip and the other for a refinish since it had some character marks from being used in the woods as intended.
JD told me that Mr Lambs bows were the only bows other than his own he had shot in many a year.
About a year ago the idea birthed itself as a way to show Charlie just what he means to us and by us I mean anyone who has ever experienced all that he (Charlie) shares so generously with all.
I'd like to thank each of you that helped make this happen.
I was blessed to be the one who got the privilege of delivering the bow and saw for the 1st time Mr Lamb without words for just a couple of minutes/ "Priceless!!"
Thank you Charlie!!
Your friendship means a great deal to not only me but all the brothers and sisters of the Tradgang Family.
Happy Hunting buddy!
God bless,Mudd
PS: JD said it was only fair...if he got to shoot Charlie's bows then Charlie should have to shoot one of his...lol
Congrats and thank you to all involved, and a BIG thank you to Mr. Lamb!!!
Thanks Roy for putting this silly train back on its' proper track.
James drew quite a few of us into his plan for this heart felt gift, and to have it hand delivered by you as the bridge for this gesture just made it that much more special.
The one thing that can't be repeated enough in this endeavor is Thank You Charlie for your contributions to our sport, and for sharing your adventures with us.
This is a cool thread. Have never met Mr. Lamb but he sounds like a first class dude. And James - well he is an original and one of the best bowyers alive today - IMHO.
Now if I could just talk him into making me a three piece takedown...........
Mudd its about time, I was beginning to run out of jokes.
Charlie, Thanks for showing me what Class is. (just wish I would have payed more attention )..James
Sorry for the delay but I had to get it in my head what I needed to say.
I think I can sum it all up by saying...........
We are truly blessed to have such great people as a part of our "tradgang family"!!!
I think I could include about 99% of the names that show up on our rosters in that roll call of "great folks".
This thread however is about one who stands head and shoulders above the average.
I don't think the Marines made him who he is, I think he was always a marine inside.
Hoorrah!!!!
God bless,Mudd
J.D, Mudd, and all. I am truly humbled by this beautiful gift and words fail me... hard to believe I know.
Like all my brothers here I'm just a man who loves to hunt with the bow and arrow. That I have been gifted with the ability to somewhat convey stories of some of my hunts comes from God.
Thank you all so much for the bow. I will hunt with it and try to do it's maker proud.
Here's a couple of pics.
The new, leaner, meaner Mudd.
Here is the bow... now named "Second"... fresh out of the box. What can I say about J.D's work. Beautiful comes to mind.
Of course I wasn't just going to sit there and look at it. The first shot at roughly 10 yds. was 8 inches high of the mark. Roy warned me about that.
The next shot was 4 inches high and the third dead center of the mark.
The draw weight is perfect and there is barely a thump on release. It's buttery smooth all the way back to anchor.
I look forward to many pleasant adventures with "Second".

I'm having trouble sending email at the moment Roy. Soon as I get it sorted out I'll mail you.
N.A.P. Charlie.
Folks when you look at the picture of me that Charlie posted I want you to take a good look at that beautiful arrow that was made for me by Matt Gundock aka "Magnus". That was the last time that arrows was seen...lol
I did the target placement and remember thinking it'll be difficult to lose one out here since the grass is barely over the soles of my shoes.
Ha!!!- nothing could be further from the truth.
Charlies' bow shot high for me and I released this one back to the "wild".
I was still tromping back and forth searching but not only for this one but another as well as Charlie drove away....lol
God bless,Mudd
Very cool!!!
Good stuff right there!!!
Tradgang at its finest!!!
Bring it to Mizzu Charlie.
Nice gesture whoever was involved :notworthy:
And to the person that asked if Charlie ever wrote his book...he sure did, about 3 years ago now I guess, two for sure.
"The living legend".... Nobody more deserving!!! I luv hunting with Charlie, and will do so in a couple weeks again, can't wait!!!
A really nice touch.
Some real gents on this site..
