Don't know that I have any pictures left, but I had a lot of them go through my shop at one time.
One of my favorite woods, but it's very unpredictable. Color and grain can vary a ton--you wouldn't think it's the same wood.
Very dense and heavy wood. Had one a while back and wish I still had it.

Lonetree Ocelot Longbow
This piece of Chechen is iridescent showing yellows, reds, browns and darker tones in bright light. Arching lams are Osage. Maple limb lams.
Its a wood that looks decent from a distant and awesome up close. And like I said, outdoors or under sunlight its amazing.

Yeah a real nice piece has an almost opalescent quality.
Besides these examples of reddish-brown, it can run from very dark to grey to yellowish. Sometimes the figure and color variation is amazing.
