Title: Fall bear hunt/guide
Post by: Labs4me on September 26, 2007, 08:37:00 PM
Hey guys,

Does anyone have first hand experience with a FALL black bear guide/lodge in Ontario that they would personally recomend? I'm hoping to book a 2008 fall bear hunt in the near future and your advice would be greatly appreciated.

I could recomend the spot I was sitting in last Saturday morning here in NJ but there is no bear season. That bear sure was a big sucker too.

I hunted last year with Howey Bay Resort in RedLake Ontario.  It was their first year doing bear hunts.  They only did 6 hunt with 100% kill.
I think they did more hunts this year as last year was a learning thing for them.  The average bait set was about 15 yards.  The longest I seen was 18yards.  I took my bear at 9yd with wheels, thats the reason I now shoot a longbow.  check them out at howeybayresort.com

I have been fishing at their resort for the last 8 years.

good luck

The Bear's Den.

The main camp is archery only. The owner, Ron, is a died in the wool bowhunter.
