Title: A couple of great slow motion videos
Post by: Paul_R on September 06, 2014, 02:41:00 PM
I'm sure a lot of you guys have seen stuff like this before but I found these highly informative.

I've wondered how something like a bow quiver could possibly affect arrow spine. Watching these videos I'd say it's not just arrow spine....

I am not sure I understand.  The two links show two different bows being shot.  I would say the spine is wrong for the flat bow, the other bow does not look as bad.

The point is that the bow flexes on the vertical plane when looking from the front, some bows more than others. A bow mounted quiver would brace against that and transfer that energy to the arrow.

One thing for sure in that first video that arrow is too stiff. Man the nock end really smacks the bow coming off the string.

I wish I had a release like that.
