Can anyone recommend a bowyer who does draw weight reductions. I have a Check-Mate 56" T/D Hunter that was made for me 60#@26". I'd like to get it to draw between 50-55#@26"

Don't believe you can reduce the weight that much! My experience is 2 - 3 pounds. depends on the limbs?

Talk to Join at the Bow Hospital and see what he thinks. Generally reducing weight by 10% or so (6# in your case) is doable. Some a bit more, some a bit less. 6# reduction would make a big difference for most people.
The logical person to help would be Marc Moriez the owner/bowyer of Chek-Mate...unfortunately he just kind of disappeared off the map some time back leaving a lot of people confused...I know that limbs for all of the Hunter series, I, II and III are completely interchangeable...your best bet might be to place a wanted add for either limbs or a complete bow as taking even 5 pounds off recurve limbs can be pretty sketchy

If its an older check mate they did not use Gordon Glass on those. They used bear paw glass from Germany. I don't think i'd want to sand that glass too much personally. it takes about .002 of glass removal per pound for reduction, and taking more than .010 off that glass would be dicey at that weight...
I can do it for you. but i will not warranty the structural integrity of the limbs afterwards. I don't think any bowyer would warranty a job like that unless he built the bow....
