got home yesterday and found a nice surprise at my front.... my new Taipan from James Berry. Words nor pictures can capture the beauty of this bow. Took it out this morning, strung it, set a temp nok and grabbed a 55/75 with a 205 simmons.... First three shots were in the 4" magic circle at 15 yards. I did no tuning, set a nook at 3/8 and yes it tossed a broadhead tipped arrow exactly where I looked with authority. I think this may actually be my fastest bow... definitely faster than my blackwidow recurve and most of my longbows.
The woods are wenge and bubinga riser, boo cores and bocote limb veneers. 57# @ 27 inches

Someday I have to get one of those, very nice!
Goog on ya! Boy tat sure is a beautiful bow! James can do some making things with wood eh? The glue lines and craftsmanship look flawless. What a great bow!
:clapper:
Bob
Very nice........
James strikes again!
Nice looking bow you got there.
I will have a lefty Taipan in my life someday hopefully.
Drool, drool, very nice, enjoy. JD can really work some magic. Can't wait for my number to come up.
Beautiful bow :bigsmyl:
Gorgeous bow!!!
Beautiful bow. I really want to try one someday.
Once again I have to say.....I'm not surprised but always amazed.
Mr Berry has figured out "one eyed" bow building already.
Kudos to you JD and congratulations to you Dave.
:archer:
Wow! It seems to me that these just get more intricate and beautiful the more malady's he has to overcome.
Congrats on an absolute stunner!
Now THAT is perfection.
Love the arches, James hasn't done one like thst for some time.
I'm starting to wonder if his second eye wasn't holding him back. Lol
I'm up in December, and a taipan is what im having him build. My current taipan is the yardstick by which all other s are measured.
Stunning bow! Congrats and thanks for sharing it with us.
Absolutely stunning. James is a master bowyer.
That is an incredibly good looking bow. You are going to love it!
@ Brian - yep it took some arm twisting and some extra $s to get this bow built :) James out did himself on this one. The craftsmanship and quality of this bow just cannot be seen in the pictures. I still have not got to play wiht it much but I am totally impressed with how easy if sends a heavy arrow down range with authority. I have owned and shot a few Berry bows for last several decades - but this one is without a doubt the best one I have shot - and that includes my Serpentine which I will never sale.
You had to bring up the serpentine lol
Another masterpiece by the master...... I have a taipan scheduled for next year and will get on the list for a Morning Star. I've no idea on the woods I'll go with and will probably let James decide. These Berry threads have me going back and forth on choices... ;)
I love the wedges in the riser... beautiful bow.
Can you take a pic of the belly side of the grip
How wide is the grip?
Ill try to measure it this evening Brian and here are back and belly pics

Thanks for the pics
Sa-Weeeet!!!!!
That's really nice!!
Is that the dished grip? I am interested in a Taipan, but have only shot recurves, so was leaning toward something besides a straight grip.
That's a positive locator .
Okay , Thanks.. I like the looks of that grip.
Heck I don't know I told James to make me a shooter and I think he understands my shooting ability (or lack there of) better than I do. This bow really impresses me how dang quick it is. And man does it have a knack at pointing where I want to hit. I am not playing wiht it much as I have a big hunt coming up in Nov and I've got my Thunderhorn dialed in as I will be flying and it is just easier with a takedown.
