Title: 1954 Bear Static Tip Grizzly
Post by: MSU Hunter on August 22, 2014, 03:05:00 PM
I have a 1954 Bear static tip grizzly coming my way and I really don't know much about them. Are they good shooters? How often can you shoot them? Any information/ insight would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to hunt with it if possible.
Thanks.

Don't know about the "54" but I have a "57" dual shelf that's as solid as a rock. I plan on hunting with it some this year.

I had to get some very weak spined arrows to shoot out of mine. I guess with the thicker riser for the dual shelf put it way short of center shot.

I would shoot mine daily with no worries.

I love Grizzlies and have owned about 20 but nothing older than 1958.

Run this post on the Trad History and collecting forum here on TG and you will likely get responses

Congrats on the new bow!

I have what I believe is a '53. I take it out every once in a while. I can second what Brett said about the weaker arrows, and mine is just a rh. I'd say its a ok shooter, but any bow can be with enough time in your hands. If your comfortable, hunt it.

I have a 53 K4 and I shoot hundreds of arrows out of it,, I only use a selway stringer with it because the tips are so big but if the bow you have coming is free of damage and the lams look like they are still glued tight then you should be able to shoot it as much as you want.
