OKAY GUY'S THOSE ARE NICE BUCKS I HAVE BEEN SEEING YOU POST, BUT WHICH DO YOU PREFER TREESTAND OR GROUND HUNTING AND WHY..? FOR ME IT IS A TREESTAND OUR DEER ARE REALLY SPOOKY SO YOU HAVE GOT TO GET ABOVE THE THE THAT DON'T ALWAYS WORK. ...LOL
I prefer ground. Shot angle is better, no chance of falling to my death.
Plus its exciting to be at eye level with deer.
With that said its a different game. Scent control, movement ,mistakes are not tolerated as much as being 15+ feet in the air.
Remember that before tree stands were made , hunters were still killing deer.
Nothing wrong with stands, Ive got one.
But I prefer the ground.
I like natural brush blinds (building one tommorow)
Mostly stands.
Yes
Tree stands for whitetails. I simply love the view and have been hunting them that way since 1970. Most of the time on stand (or in a blind) are spent without action. That's when the view keeps me entertained.
Stating the obvious but one of the attractions to bowhunting is how we hunt as much or more so than the kill itself.
I hunted from a blind in TX a few years ago. Killed a hog and a whitetail within the same hour. It was pretty cool and for sure the shot angle was a joy. But, my view (blind and all) was severely restricted and I didn't enjoy the sit as much.
I hunt mostly from a treestand because it does offer up a wider range of view. I practice from an elevated position prior to the hunting season which really helps. I typically start out shooting high from an elevated position but through practice sessions I figure out what is causing the issue and make the necessary adjustments. For me I normally have to cant the bow a bit more.

Both depending on the situation. Mostly treestand currently but more and more ground especially with ghilly.
Both!
Sitting in a blind can be tough - in our CT woods you cant see very far. Tree stands let you see deer even if they are too far away. My favorite (though I've never gotten a deer this way) is still hunting.
I prefer the shot from a ground blind. The compound angles from elevation, esp when you start geting real high, make your target smaller!
That being said, I let the terrain and cover dictate how I will set up in any given location.

I prefer ground brush blinds more and more these days, but I still probably hunt more from ladders.
I use both treestands and ground blinds, it just depends on the situation.
I started on the ground and took my first whitetail at six yards, face to face. It was something I'll never forget. However, I have come to love treestand hunting for them. I like being able to see them approach from a distance, as it gives me time to calm down and slow my breathing and heart rate, allowing me to be more focussed if and when the shot opportunity arises. .02

Ditto. Except I sold my tree stand a few years back. I may try it again someday, but for now I have encountered many animals on foot. It just takes practice and field craft to get close.
Both
all my mulies are from the ground
whitetails I have most on the ground but two bucks from tree stands...not really high either just don't move till its right with good cover
all moose from ground (all called in)
except two cows I stalked
and my only bull elk was from the ground and called in
pronghorn from behind a decoy (that was alot of fun
wild boars from both ground and stands
love using ghillies and leafy suits now...
although I have pop up blinds...I prefer suits and stalking
the thing with pop ups is if the location is not a busy spot then it is easy to get bored as you can not see the birds and squirrels and other game afforded by a larger view of the area
pop ups are great in poor weather and you can move inside where the other types of hunting you have to be so careful..
Whitetails and Treestands gotta loveum!
Ground.
I have really come to love getting away from tree stands, ground blinds, and even camo. I don't know if I can describe why but I enjoy it more and it hasn't hurt my freezer levels.
I have shot hogs on the ground, but all my whitetails were taken from a treestand
I never ever limit myself to one type of hunting when it comes to whitetails, they are were you find them. Tree stands, ground blinds, spot and stalk are something I will use every year while hunting.

I like sitting in stands if they are comfortable, but if I am too crippled I have hard time getting down. I can gimp, limp and stagger my way miles from camp or car, but one of those missed steps when it is the first step out of a tree stand has become a dangerous one for me. The problem with nice morning hunting on the ground is that sooner or later my low back pain will get me to assume my favorite mid morning position. On my back on a slight downhill, bush in a bag under my head and my feet up on a blow down. Either I do not snore in that position or my snoring brings deer in real close, but it is real hard to shoot when your feet are up.
Ground for me due to a repaired L-5 and no need for a Harness,,I take my Huntmore 360 and use what the Good Lord supply's as a Natural blind set up...I love the ground the more I hunt it and have had good success being close to many nice bucks as well...
Ground for elk and mulies, treestand for whitetails.
Both!!!!!!!!
Ground hunting. I love the view from stand. But i can be mobile. Better shot angle, i can blend in better and alot easier to set up. I have many trseestands. But last 7 years ground huntig has appealed to me
I hunt absolutely everything from the ground... except whitetail deer.
I have to travel to hunt them so I probably don't hunt them as much as you guys, but my ratio for ground to tree stand for whitetails is probably about 50/50 (for now).
Ground this year. For me it depends what area is open that day on post so tree stands are tough to leave up. I have a climber but no matter how hard I try its always a pain to sneak in and set it up and climb without making a racket. I've made up a ghillie for this year im excited to try out. I've taken a few on the ground with a gun at relatively close range, so I like my odds. I plan to tuck under some pines or brush with my ghillie and stool and just sit still. Never gets to cold here so that won't be a problem. Besides theres some spots that I've wanted to try but have crappy trees in them. I may fail, but it wont be for lack of effort! Haha
I love ground hunting. Even when I had treestands I still hunted 90% of the time on the ground.
Lot warmer when it's cold. lol
Nothing wrong with treestands but down here they're really not much of an advantage, the deer look up a lot.
i hunt with ghillie also, ive been within 10 ft of two tom turkeys.. have had a squirrel try and run ump my leg settin on my stool next to a tree and have been within 20 feet many times of whitetail deer and within 4 ft twice... aint no more rush then that!! had to hold breath because i was afraid they would smell it!!..

Both
I would say ground blind but now that ticks are running more and more rampant I opt for the trees and prefer a climber over a chain on,,, BUT I find myself hunting out of the chain ons more than the climbers in the mornings so I don't make too much noise "going up"
I think I'm 40% deer harvested from the ground,, way better shot angle and honestly they can be as nervous as anything the thrill ride is you must let them get past you and once they are looking ahead the shot is yours and you MUST have the quietest clothes you can afford or ground hunting won't work.
Ground because.....

Both. I love the view from the treestands, but like others would prefer to shoot them from the ground. Ghillis are interesting whether in the tree or on the ground.
