First post, happy to be here.
Whenever you see someone ask who the top bowyers are, Dan Toelke's name always seems to be somewhere near the top, if not right there at it. Generally speaking, when you talk to any of the other bowyers whose names are mentioned they often have delivery times ranging from ~6 months to over a year, and rightfully so.
So how in the hell is it possible to call Dan up and less than 30 days later have one of the finest longbows in the world in your hands? It's pretty impressive.
I've had this one for about 3 weeks now and couldn't be happier. Cocobolo riser/curly maple veneers.

Nice looking bow.
How does he do it indeed. My experience with my recent Whip purchase is same as yours. Fast build times and no compromise on quality. Couldn't be more pleased!
Dan has a secret.
I drove over to his shop earlier this year for a short visit and to pick up a bow. While some or many Bowyers create bows in their free time away from their primary occupation, building bows is ALL Dan and Jared do! Dan builds and tillers the bows, Jared does all the finish work. His younger son was building strings when I was there. It's a top shelf, professional, family operation. Lots of equipment and material there. He has a lot of wood stock ready to go and even a room to cure exotic wood to the right building conditions. They don't mess around, lol!
Btw, what are the specs on that bow you bought?

64" Whip H.S. 40# @ 28
I don't plan on doing any hunting with this one so I went light for all day enjoyment. I will likely get a heavier Chinook or Kestrel for Turkey in the spring.
That bow is beautiful
I have a regular 64" and am curious to the difference in profile. Could you post a strung side profile of the whole bow? An one maybe unstrung?
