Just curious what you other toelke shooters have for your nock height if you shoot 3 under...thanks in advance.

We were just discussing this briefly in another thread.
I finally have settled in right around a 1/2" and I am shooting a Lynx with recurve limbs (58" bow). I would like to add that I did not get great arrow flight and a quiet bow until I put one of Dans endless loop strings on. I still am having a hard time believing that the string change made the difference that it did,but shooting a bare shaft with 3 others that are fletched all in the same group makes me a believer.

Thanks, Craig. That's about what I'm at...just checking. Thanks. Was that the norm? Talked to Dan today and he said it was, but I didn't ask if he shot 3 under.
I had a D-10 Flemish string on that I had rolled up. 10 strands with wool silencers,padded loops. It was not real bad noise wise,but to get good arrow flight I was clear up to 3/4". It all got much better when I put one of Dan's strings on.

For me, 5/8" seemed to be the lucky number shooting Whips 3 under and i standardized on 8 strand SBD strings

Nothing but good things to say about Dan's strings from me but I'd be real curious to know how your SBD behaved with a second string nock. Pierre uses halo serving and nocks will slide a lot easier on that than the stuff Dan uses... :archer2:
Both my Toelke bows are tillered 3 under. I set to 5/8 and get great results.

The SBD was a 10 strand also and had wooly whispers on it and yes the serving is slick on his strings. I normally serve with Halo also but on this particular string I actually used an orange monofilament. Silly,but I never gave it a thought that maybe that may have had something to do with it.
I am not done with the SBD strings yet,I know it is just a matter of tweaking it somewhere. And maybe that will be adding another nockpoint. But for now Dan's string is staying on,it is really shooting well.

I shoot mine like Dan with just two under, but like the other guys said 5/8" seems to be good for me as well. 10 strand BCY X
I shoot my whip, curlew and lynx at 5/8" 3 under. That gave me the best paper tune and flight.

+1 on using two nock points. I think it makes a difference (at least with the way my nocks fit)

I know this is a very old thread but I'm currently at 3/4 where the center of the upper nock ring is and I shoot 3 under. The arrows fly ok but the bow is not whisper quiet yet. I'm not sure when people say 1/2 or 3/4 do they mean the arrow nock or the upper nock ring and which side of the edge of either? I wonder if I can make the whip quieter by moving my nock further up but my bareshaft is showing nock high.
5/8" is whisper quiet for me, but she likes a very stiff arrow. Must be cur past center.

I took some time over the last couple of days to revisit my nock height on my 66" super D tillered spilt. I shoot three under. Bare shaft was always nock high and even left-right with a 5/8 nock.(Shooting with bow vertical to check flight) I started over from zero nock which is 1/4" on the string. My bareshaft arrows flew straight , no high nock and a bit nock left which show a weaker spine which is to be expected with my arrows. I deceased point weight 50gr and it straightened up. I settled on 5/16 nock height which is way down from 5/8. Even though the bow is tillered spilt, it is 66" long and shooting three under with such a low nock height still shoots a straight bare shaft. I figure with the lower nock, more energy is being transferred to the arrow, that's why the nock left indication vs my old 5/8 height which showed even left and right but nock high. Opinions?
