I was unaware that Simmons made a single bevel? I know centaur makes a very similar head in a single bevel. Neat if they do make one.

Hi they will grind the that way if I order 12 . I thinking I may try it .
Are they thick enough to make a wide enough bevel to cause rotation. I've heard some of the companies that make one of their double bevels into a single, it doesn't work so well.
????? I am working with Helix now and they do twist in a foam block .
Oops, made it double post with the back button!
This should be interesting to see how it works out. Seems to me like a blade as wide as the sharks are wouldnt twist well but who knows. Most of the single bevel heads that i have seen are narrow heads. As wicked a wound as those sharks already make, if the single bevels do twist then they should make a hole through a deer big enough to put your arm through, lol.
I shoot the Centaur Big Game SB and can say thay do rotate a bit in 3D targets. No big game yet but they are murder on turkeys!
What's wrong with the regular one? I guarantee you a SB Simmons won't kill something any deader than a DB and if you have problems with a double bevel penetrating and single isn't going in much farther.
I agree with other posts in this thread. The regular tree sharks penetrate about 6 inches +- into the rhinehart kill zone at 20 yards. Those broadheads are already causing plenty of damage and putting deer quicker than my rifle did on a double lung shot. Its just a devastating broadhead.
I killed a mountain lion with single bevel tree sharks. Nothing different to report. Lots of blood on the ground.
Last 3 bucks I killed with regular Tree Sharks the arrows where sticking in the ground on the other side (my recurve is only right at 50lbs with my draw) and I watched two of them fall. The other one ran in some thick stuff about 60 yds. Plenty of blood on all of them.
The only attraction I would have to a single beveled simmons is ease of sharpening. Seems it would be simpler, no?
Thanks all .I am going to try some standard land sharks first . I will be hunting Sika in the Maryland marsh . I am concerned about the blood tracking in the marsh .

Simmons are great BH's...you won't be sorry if you do your part!
Get the longer simmons and you wont have a problem with a blood trail if you do your part.
About five years ago, I had some single bevel tiger sharks made up. When I asked about placing another order, I was told I would have to order a dozen, since a couple get messed up during the bevel grinding set up. Makes sense to me.
Yea that is what I was told . I am going with the Helix , and standard land shark . I will see how these work on Sika , whitetail , and hopefully black bear .

Lee Hoots got some interceptors I think. He killed some deer with them. LCH
Ring, are you hunting public land on your Sika hunt?
