Title: Arrow Dynamic Guru's please chime in
Post by: Bobby Urban on August 17, 2014, 02:59:00 PM
I just picked up two dozen AD Nitro Lite shafts for 20$ a dozen at a yard sale.  Need to know if these are the equivalent to AD Trad Lites?  Or what nitros are because they have a lot of them and told me I could come back and exchange them if they were not what I needed - Thanks!!

Bob...I'm not familiar...seems like I used them LONG ago before the Trads came out, and I believe they are lighter in weight that the trad lites....

Also, if they are selling them that cheap and 'have a lot of them'....means they didn't pay much for them and they may not be blems, could be seconds and unsafe or even stolen.

I'll contact the owners and see if something is a miss.

Got it - thank you Jerry.  I shoot the trad Lites too - out of 45-65lb bows and they work great but they had no Trad AD's just a LOt of Notro's

The AD website says they are close but a bit lighter GPP than the trads.  I will make some up and see how they fly from my bow.  I can always add some weight to the arrow in a multitude of ways and these are tapered shafts.

I picked up 2doz AD Nitro shafts, two Dozen inserts(aluminum) 5 doz. push in nocks and a grocery bag of random paroblic 4" fletching for $45 clams.  If these shoot I ma go back and get all of them  :)   They have Nitro lites, stingers and Big Game shafts.

Terry - they actually bought out a whole small archery shop to stock their fishing(bait and tackle) store and are just liquidating the archery stuff - mostly compound stuff.  They are legit I am certain of that.

The website says spine 350 for the Nitro Lites and 375 for the trad lites.  Not sure what that means in relation to a 45lb recurve but I will find out.  These are all in plastic bags they come in with $114.00 on the sticker.

Thanks for the help - if they work for me I will buy more - a lifetime supply maybe.

They also have a bunch of XX75 and Easton Carbons but the aluminums are a little heavy for me.

Bobby,

I shoot the Nitro Stingers in addition to the AD Trads, I have orange label, I also have some green label and gold that fly great out of my 55-64# bows, never tried the Nitro lites.

Bob: I had a bad experience with the earlier shafts like yours. To be safe, spine each one of them. When they first came out I bought a bunch (when i was making custom arrows) and the spine readings even within a dozen shafts were terribly off...some as much as 20#. Hope you got a good batch.

Thanks all - and I will do just that Bill.  Fortunately I got a pretty good deal on all the stuff so worst case a few are poorly spined.  If they had Trad Lite I would have bought everyone but being Nitro's and my limited knowledge I just took the 2 doz.  They are about 5 miles from me so if I find they are nice I may go get more.

OK Bobby....that's a relief....was concerned that's all.

Hope they work as that is definitely a deal.

Cut to 27" and stuffed some weed whip string inside to get them up to match my trad lites and 10gpp.  Fly just like the T-lites so I am pleased.  Only made up three but I will probably buy all they have and as mentioned - spine test them all.

I am pleased with the arrows at this price.
