Title: Ascent or 90%. Sitka gear
Post by: md126 on August 16, 2014, 02:49:00 PM
Hello all,  looking at a second pair of pants for an elk hunt in CO. Hunt will be at 10,000ft & September 23-28. I currently have the Sitka Mountain Pants.

I've considered the Ascent pants and the 90% pants. I'd like to maximize the use and value of the purchase by being able to use the pants for October/November whitetails also BUT the best pair for the elk hunt is most important

Thanks

MD-you have the best pair right now. I've worn my Mountain pants from 60 above to 23 below.

I'd go 90%, but if it doesn't cool down by then, you will roast.

I love my mountain pants too, I just tried for the first time today the first lite kanab pants.  Let me tell you they are sweet.  I didn't buy the camo ones just the dry earth color, I plan on wearing them all of elk season.  Either way you go you're gonna be happy.

I like my ascent pants for elk hunting with a base layer.  I sweat my butt off in my 90%.
