smooth on
Suoerglue with roughed up surfaces works for me. Just rought hem up with some sandpaper first and clamp it on the snug, not too tight.

Thanks. Just glued it up with Smooth-On.

Has anyone had a tip overlay ever come off? (I'm talking selfbows or bbo)
The reason I ask is that I have seen or heard of overlays glued on with every bow-making glue and I've never heard of one coming off so it must not make a lot of difference. I use whatever I have available but like epoxy or superglue.
I've repaired close to a half-dozen bows for others in which the limb tip overlay came off. I generally use an epoxy to glue on a new one.
I have been using thick CA for a number of years with 0 failures. (knock on wood) I think the key is ruffing up the glue sufaces well. I use a jig saw metal cutting blade to do that. Here is a pic of a riser glue up that I used epoxy on but you can get the idea. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/crookedstic/Bowbuild14.jpg)
I've used both and they both will work, but I think Smooth on was a good choice Stan. Smooth on leaves a nicer fade in from the glass to the overlay.
Good Pic!! Excellent Info All 'Round as Well!! This is What "TRADGANG" Is ALL About!! :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
