Just came in from outside taking some photos of the Super Moon and having to stay within the rules of the forum...... Tell me how you hunt when the moon is big and bright????

Had deer out in the top field around 8:00 tonight while I was doing a little shooting, the moon did not seem to be altering there feeding pattern. What are your thoughts??

Craig, I hunt the full like any other way I hunt... any chance I get, I'm out in the woods.
I was watching it tonight while being serenaded by coyotes, Killdeer and crickets.
Deer feed every 2 to 4 hours no matter what the moon is doing. If you follow a solunar table it allows for any moon phase.
I personally spend more time in the woods mid-day when one of these glo-balls are hanging in the sky. We all have our own ideas about this and I personally think it messes with movement.
Good Shooting,
craig
I am more of a Mid-day hunter on the full moon phase, until the rut then I stay all day if possible.
Craig, Great close up image of the Super Moon! I guess that I tend to see a few more deer and other critters in the midday hours during a full moon but I don't change my hunting strategy.
And I cant see it. cloudy and storming..at least maybe I'll get some sleep
Thanks Charles. I found out how steady I am "not" last night. That was at a 15x zoom. Awesome moon. Nothing in the top fields or any fields on my way home from work this evening. Hmmmm...
Good Shooting,
Craig
I spent the last couple of nights stalking pigs by the moon light. It was great fun, exciting. Especially when you can hear them in the shadows only a few yards away.
I ended up with two nice eaters, 60-80lbers. I did find though that picking a spot was much harder and I lost some accuracy....tended to put my arrow higher than i wanted.
Got charged at one stage and clean missed oncoming pig at maybe 3 yards. :banghead: Lucky it was of A size I could deal with.
Anyway great fun. Just have to work on it a bit.
Me personally I don't like hunting in the evenings during a full moon ,but I still hunt regardless! I see more activity late morning
I try to get out only very early, first couple hours of light, and in the evening last hour or so. It also depends on when the moon rises and sets.
