I just thought I'd share a positive experience. I was asked to help with a local youth field day last weekend. The kids were able to try shotgun, black power, crossbows, BB guns, and my traditional setups. I brought a few different bows, every armguard/tab/glove I could find, a couple dozen flu-flus and some aerial targets.
Although the other instructors were not impressed with my equipment, the kids were lined up 10 deep to shoot flu-flus at bouncing bunnies. Out of about 100 shots, the kids maybe only hit 5 but that was probably because they were laughing so hard.
It wasn't meant to be a competition with the other stations and I'm sure I'd lose the cool-gadget interest level with a typical teenager to lighted nocks, fiber optic sights, releases, and the ability to shoot a 200gr arrow over 320fps. But I know we had more laughing and ribbing then anyone else.

Sounds like you had a great time. Hap
Eric, Thanks for sharing  Sounds like a good day.
I am a 4H instructor. You'd be supprized how the other instructors take interest when you do something you can't do with the modern stuff. Our shotgun guys were ending up the day and I said let me give it a try with my bow. I had two arrows with regular feathers. I stepped up with every kid and instructor watching and proceded to miss both clays ...but not by much. They were impressed and the kids loved it. Now my instructors like trad a bit more.
