Since I moved the only way to shoot outside is to go by my friends house. I can shoot inside but only 5 yards. Am I wasting my time or is this better then nothing?
Better than nothing. Focus on form.

Here's my in door target 10yrds if I shoot though the open door. Watch that upper tip,& :banghead: low ceilings
Tried that one time and my wife threatened to have me committed. I believe her and haven't done that again. I can use the double carport, but it is only 12 yards wide and about 10 yards deep. Good enough for me, especially when it is raining.
Shooting at close distances is the best way to work on form and shoot a ton of arrows in a short amount of time.
I can relate. Best I can manage in my shop is around 6 yards. I'd hate to give it up. Not as much fun as driving to a range, but lots handier.
The muscles involved in shooting a bow do not get used much, or at least in the same way,
for other things...people tend to forget that maintaining good conditioning is important...I have been suffering through a shoulder issue and not shooting nearly as much as I did...I have had to drop about 10 pounds in draw weight

My indoor shooting is done at about 8 feet from my target. I don't pay any attention to trying to hit any specific spot on the target, I just try to concentrate on making each aspect of my shot perfect. My goal is to get "muscle memory" built up, so that the muscles know what to do on their own, without conscious effort. In other words, I use it to work on form so that I can go on "auto-pilot" in the moment of truth.
