Noticed when I was shooting the other day that my black widow bow turns 15 this month.

From the day I bought it it has been my "go-to" bow. I have other bows I hunt with and have started making my own bows but this one will always hold a special place on the rack. It has taken a lot of game big and small and provided countless hours of enjoyment. Just a few of the good times over the years...

Really looking forward to the next 15 years!!!
Bill, congrats to you. I'm sure you and your widow know each other well, and that makes for good medicine. Continued success with it.
Shick
and it's a beautiful bow....well done sir.
I have a feeling there's many, many more animals going down to your widow Bill. Have a great season this year bud it will be here before we know it.
Tracy
I let my 15 yr old bow go the other week. Still feeling the sting from that. Saving for the next one.
Great looking bow. I have a MA11 that was bought if I remember right early 90s.
My wife has one just like it. Her's is 62" 41@28" and is left handed also. I do love Widdows:-)
Bill,
Congratulations! Mine turned 15 in May. I wish I was the original owner. I just started shooting trad about 5 years ago. I got lucky and mine was the first bow I bought from a fellow tradganger. I have shot new widows with phenolic and don't like them as well as my saiii.
Mine is at Nixa right now getting the spa treatment. She should be home this week.
Sorry to hijack your thread!
Happy Birthday!
Some super pictures and memories too. Thanks for sharing.

I've thought about sending her back for a little TLC myself. Maybe for the 20th birthday.
Very nice!!
It is most refreshing hearing from someone that has found a bow that works for them and sticking with it. One of the best deer hunters I know has been hunting with a Super K for as long as I have known him. When his bow was showing signs of age, he got a new Super K the same weight as the bow he already had.
I guess mine is still young at 6yrs. It's the only bow I shoot! PMAX Bocote.
Wow! I can't imagine keeping anything 15yrs..... Well besides my wife lol! Looks like she has treated you well over the last 15.
Congrats! Kept my 94 MA III for 12 years until it got too heavy.
Yours looks great.
Looks like a good 15 Years. Here's to 15 more of the same   :coffee:

I agree.......... :)
Congrats...while I have a few vintage Brownings...I was not original owner on any of them. My Jeffery bought in 92 and my Habu bought 99 are my two oldest bows.
Feels like a long lost friend when you pick them up that many years...
I still have the Silver Anniversary MA that I bought new in 1983 so it is 31 years old. I don't shoot it any more as I switched to left handed years ago. But I killed many animals with it so I will keep it and pass it down to my Grandson. Jim

That's a great story. I'm sure your grandson will love it!
Bill: I was living across the state line from you in Lee's Summit, MO when I bought that bow. Moved to Colorado two years later. PS: I lived in Overland Park for several years after college (KU). Jim
Wow! Beautiful memories made with a great bow! Happy birthday to it!
Great looking bow and I know the feeling of a special widow.... I still have my first recurve and she's prettier today than when I bought her new in the spring of 1987. A Black Widow HS60! She's 27 years old and she had the "SPA" treatment a handful of years back to unveil her inner beauty! Blonde Maple limbs on back, diamondback skins on front, black riser, limb tips black & white phenolic... She's not going anywhere and I shoot her and another newer widow... Happy Birthday to yours, enjoy!
Happy 15 th birthday. A lot more good times to come I'm sure!
Lots of life left in that bow. My 49#er is 10 years old, wouldn't trade either of them for any bow out there. I really like the looks of the old style scrimshaw inlay. Hope you get many, many more years out of it.
