Congratulations. Now every day is Saturday.
Congrats Bud... I retired in December of 2009 and love it. I still do a little work on the side, just enough to keep me feeling "needed", and to help pay for my hunting.
Again... enjoy life!
Congratulations, Bud. I have the entire season off from work this year, too. Not retirement for me but more like a paid sabbatical. Give me a shout and we can hunt together, even on week days. Ah, the good life.
Congrats on retiring!! Hope the season brings success and joy !
Congrats Brother! Can't wait till I can retire.
Charlie
Bud don't get so busy doing things you can't come up and hunt with me some this year. I owe you a good hunt. That pocket quiver is great you made me.LCH
Bud :wavey: Congratulations on your retirement :clapper:
Congratulations Bud !
I'll be there for the start of the 2nd split of the Western season on October 12th.
But only for 1 week - I can't retire yet. :banghead:
Congrats Bud! Hunt often and on your terms.
Good for you!!!!!! I hope you have one of your best hunting seasons!
I retired in 1999 (Army)and now I'm a teacher congrats and enjoy your time.
Congratulations on retirement! May it be bless with good times and cheer!
Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Great thing is, I'm not yet 50!! :)
hey, hey Bud! Good deal! That's the ticket.
Congradulations Bud and blessings on your retirement !
Congratulations Bud! I hope you have a great season! You have earned it
Congratulations Bud, those Deer and Critters better start making themself scarce....
:clapper: :clapper:
Congrats Bud. Does this mean you'll have me a good place picked out and a stand hung, lol?
How do you retire at 50? I would be happy to retire at 60.
You're always welcome down here Richard. Can't make any promises on a stand though. Was going to check out the land today but all this rain has stymied that.
How do you retire before 50?
Join the USAF right out of HS. Leave the USAF four years later. Join a southeast municipal police department (Greensboro, NC) that has a 30 year retirement (you northerners have it made!! So do Floridians!) Your state allows you to purchase military service time and apply towards retirement. You don't abuse sick time and apply your 2,700 hours of it to your retirement time, and whah lah!
As of right now I have no plans to go back to work full time. Income, once settled into the retirement pay, however, may dictate otherwise. Boredom too.
I just hope to have a relaxed hunting season, if not a successful one. No schedule to hold me back on that now ;)
Thanks for the comments one and all. I very much appreciate them :)
What a perfect way to reflect on the past, in the woods. I intend to do just that, in 17 years...

Congrats Bud! Now maybe you'll have time to write a story or two for TradArchers' World magazine. You had a few good ones that you shared at Wild Things in December. Again, congrats on your retirement.
Thanks Jeremy!
And Tom,
I have sent a Wild Things deposit for the 14/15 season, but just haven't decided on what dates yet. Was thinking the first set of dates or the second set....waiting on Andrew to call me back with his sightings update and opinion. I don't like the heat, but hunting wild hogs after a summer of lazing around unhunted has me thinking the first or second dates might just be my magic time to go.
Hope to see you there again soon.
Congrats on the retirement.
You aren't going to go to Greenville? lol
You're young enough to enjoy your time off.
Don't get me started on that Greenville issue. They're in for a treat.
