I guess I won't be shooting for a few days
I was cutting the heads off of some screws with a hacksaw today. The saw jumped off the screw head but didn't miss my thumb.
Cut to the knuckle bone and nicked the tendon. The picture was taken just before the inevitable lidocaine shot in the middle of the cut....OUCH, GRRRRR!!!! After a 2 hour wait and 5 stitches later I went out the door. I wanted to leave after 90 minutes and tape it up myself but the wife wasn't having any of that.
That poor thumb has had a hard life. Split in 1/2 from tip into the first joint with a table saw, sliced with knives, pounded with a 20 oz framing hammer, slammed in a meat cooler door and now this. Poor ole thumb.

Ouch!!! Thats gonna leave a mark, hurry and heal before season comes in.
Well, you know what they say. Scars are life's tattoos with better stories.
Of course whoever said that never smacked their thumb with a framing hammer on a winter's day!
Ouch....I am always amazed at you guys who take a picture of those sorts of things before heading off to get them sewed back up. Not me, man, I would be out the door pronto. Some guys are just tougher than I am. Glad it was no worse.
Sorry for your pain better save the super glue and duct tape for when no doctor is available. my foot ball coach all ways said "rub some dirt on it"
Bummer! Let's hope it heals quick. By the way, does your chick dig scars?

That picture was taken in the exam room after a 2 hour wait for the doc to sew me up.
You should have just stapled it back in place. You do know that Chicks dig scars, right. :D
It's only a flesh wound! Rub some dirt on it and get back out there!
What can I say.... "Thumbs up?" :)
Sew it up and move on!
Duc tape, no home is complete without medical grade duc tape.
You said you can sharpen anything.
Gee whiz, there needs to be a warning before we open these kinds of threads. Makes me woozy.
In the words of Monte Python:
"Tis merely a flesh wound"
Keep shootin til the pus runs!!!
bretto
Up here in Canuckistan that would just be considered a mere flesh wound. Unless, of course, it interferes with shooting your bow. In that case, it would be considered lifestyle threatening, and only an ambulance and a trauma surgeon will do.
lol
Pretty sure that part of the hand doesn't come in contact with the bow. Unless you are shooting off the hand! "Now suck it up buttercup and get out there!!!
Just kidding. Heal up. That hand loves having a bow in it!!!
Y'all are too funny
I dunno that I might have noticed that. Good call!

Bet your back shooting in no time. Keep it clean.
I worked for the, past 2 days. I have full movement of the thumb and no pain. My grip is tight so I guess the "Dr's" fear of my cutting the tendon and cartilage were unfounded as I told him. I've done this too many times before. I'll take the stitches out on Wed but probably start shooting on Mon.
It could have been worse.

That pic of the carbon arrow, in that guy's hand, is awful. I've seen it before, and always wondered why that happened. Hope everything is good for you though Rob.
