I finally got around to building a target shed. The detachable backstop on top is stacked 1x12's held together with square aluminum tubing that drops into steel tubing mounted on the doors. Behind the target is dense closed cell foam sandwiched between 4 layers of carpet and the back wall is covered with 3/4" horse stall mat (HEAVY recycled tire rubber). Everything is free to move except the horse stall mat.
I'm pretty happy with the end result what do you guys think?

I like that set up. I'd love to shoot in my yard, but I bet if I do, I'll be talking to the police shortly after. :(
Dave.
Can I come and swim too. Watch out for up stairs window next door.
Nice set up......
Very nice,I like it!
Boy, I wouldn't want to live in the house across the street. :bigsmyl:
$h*t yeah! Nicely done. And nice place, I like the pool. I think I need to spend less money on bows LOL.

The picture is kinda deceptive but yeah, I'm thinking another 1x12 might be a good idea. Not that I've ever missed that badly at 25 yards...
Funny thing is Nick (my neighbor) would probably be the one to shoot his own house! He likes my pool and range and I like the fact that he runs a nano brewery out of his house. Makes for an excellent quid pro quo! :D
That is pretty cool. Just think, a range to practice both field shooting and bow fishing.
Very Nice!!
So.....where are the starlets sunbathing by the pool?? Come on......you're in California!!
The course needs a floating Gator target :bigsmyl:
very nice shed ...
I'm with PatB I wouldn't want to live in the house behind it with me shooting! When I "Jerk" one Lord knows where it will go but that house would be in danger.
Very nicely done!
I think that responsible shooting would keep the neighbors' house safe. But being the careful person that I am, I would be constantly concerned about it.
I think the floating target idea sounds like a good one, too!
:)
Very nice. Don't shoot low or ya might need a new liner in the frog pond!

Liner? That there is a cement pond! :D
I like the floating alligator target idea.....
Can I come stay with you? :)
Very nice are you in Beverly Hills? Sweet set up.
Now that is nice ! Great job !
You can practice shooting from a canoe.
Great job. I need to build something like that so the back yard bow shooting police don`t arrest me. lol

Luckily it's perfectly legal to shoot arrows on your property here. It's when the arrows leave your property that you can have a problem. There's an actual code violation for "escaping arrows". Enforcement and consequences will depend on where they escaped to and who saw what.... :archer2:
Looks like a good place to fine tune your shooting accuracy plus do a little carp shooting...
I like it !what is the back wall made of?
That's pretty slick!
Bisch
Finally got my paper roll set up. Paper tuning takes about 1 minute to set up and take down. Pretty nice!

I completely expected to see an arrow sticking out of the side of a garden shed.
Nice work. I have only imagined such a setup, and this is even better. Do you have any lights installed for night shoots?
