Title: I dont think she can be fixed !
Post by: bowhunter@54 on July 27, 2014, 04:32:00 PM
Well that day that we all hope will never happen .It finally came up and bit me . Went out do do a little  shooting to take my mind off my best k=9 friend who has come to the point  that she has to be put down on Monday . And to top that of my 1986 martin The Stick longbow broke and like my best friend I don't think she can be fixed either ! Hope Tuesdays better.         (http://i1330.photobucket.com/albums/w577/bowhunter6979/20140727_145519_zpsk2lutnbp.jpg) (http://s1330.photobucket.com/user/bowhunter6979/media/20140727_145519_zpsk2lutnbp.jpg.html) .          (http://i1330.photobucket.com/albums/w577/bowhunter6979/20140727_145452-1_zps7cpke30l.jpg) (http://s1330.photobucket.com/user/bowhunter6979/media/20140727_145452-1_zps7cpke30l.jpg.html) .       (http://i1330.photobucket.com/albums/w577/bowhunter6979/Mobile%20Uploads/0225141902_zpsu5b8fre_edit_1393376963620_zpsj1lqru35.jpg) (http://s1330.photobucket.com/user/bowhunter6979/media/Mobile%20Uploads/0225141902_zpsu5b8fre_edit_1393376963620_zpsj1lqru35.jpg.html)

From the looks of those arrows in the target, she must have been a shooter!

It always sucks when they break!

Sorry about your pooch too!

Sorry for your loss, I had to put down our lab 1-1/2yrs ago. We miss him.
As far as your Martin, there are epoxy's and glues today that could put her back together, however I don't think she'll shoot the same again.
I think the best thing would be to, pick a spot on the wall and hang her up in a place of honor.

That is a bad run, for sure.  Take it from another man that loves his bows and his dogs.  Hang that bow on the wall, and cherish the short time left with your dog. Bows are replaceable, good dogs very often are not.  So sorry.

Jake

Thanks for the kind words .And  that's what I'm going to do is to glue the bow back together and hang it up .And yes it was a tack driver. On my dog she's a Belgium Malinois and has been a loyal and faithful family member for 14 years . well got to go taking foxie to the sonic for a small dish of ice cream .         and thanks for all your kind words

Two big losses too close together ... I will keep a good thought for you. Toughest to lose the dog ... been there.  Again, sorry for your loss.

Respectfully,

Bob.
