I used John's instructions from the link listed above to straighten water buffalo for my 58" bow belley. Here is the link to page 3 with some pictures.

Also, I found that horn has to be VERY hot to change its form. Hotter than wood to bend, just short of the scorching point. You can see some brown discoloration - scorching - on the piece I was working. The brown was only on the surface and polished off.
I have changed the shape of pieces of horn a lot by boiling them in water, so 212F is enough heat, but they don't hae to cool very much for them to become nonplyable again.
