Yes dear I just spent 1700 dollars for a new Blacktail.
Yes dear I'll get all your honey does done. Yes dear l'll carry out the trash. Yes dear l'll vacum the floor. Yes dear l'll paint the house. Wow is this bow expensive. I'll be paying for this for a long time! :knothead: :help:
Some bows are priceless :)
Well the way I see it, you were going to do all the "honey do's" regardless. So, your still at $1700 and if you've got it, no problem.
Congrats on the bow!!

Congrats on the bow!!
x2
LOL I can sympathize!
boy I got in trouble for $600, I would be looking for a couch to sleep on if it was %1,700
congrats on the new bow by the way...
If I spent $1700 on a bow(or anything) there isn't a honey doo list big enough or complete enough to save my life! Heck, I'd probably kill myself if I spent $1700 on a bow. :knothead:
I hear you brother
But honey the dining room set was just a little more than your bow! Mine always cost twice as much when the wife is done getting even!
I even wouldn't have a chance to kill myself, I think the old lady would be way faster... "Oh No, Please.... not with my new bow!!!"
It better be accurate because I would be living under a tree somewhere surviving on what I could shoot.
You told her how much it cost?!?!?!?!? :smileystooges:
Don't ever do that! :nono:
.... What this ol thing? Naw it's been in the closet for years. Oh the box in the mail? That's this bouquet of roses! ... I know it is weird they sent them in that giant box right!... Oh by the way here's some chocolates.. I was just thinking of you when I got them :bigsmyl:
I'm having to practice because my new widow should arrive fri lol
What's really funny is that once I get out of this hot water she will get reminded of it next April when the bow comes in and I'll have to go through it all over again.
It's like fishing rods. Once you have a bunch of 'em they can't tell when you bought another one as long as they don't see you bring it in and hide it with the others. :) Using credit cards? You're gonna get caught!
How did you get away with such a short list of things to do?
Oh that's just the begining of the list
Yes Dear. I will upgrade your diamond!
To apply the old gun collector's thought, "I hope when I'm gone she doesn't sell them for what I told her they cost" :D
Never, ever tell the wife what a bow costs. Every custom I have cost at least that much. But I have a bow fund set up and that is what I use for my bows and hunts. Put a bit in every payday.
I like Danny's thinking. I used to be a carpenter, I try to get side jobs to finance extra purchases. Just ordered my first custom bow in May. Told the wife it is more the $300, but less than $3000.
I'm glad you bought that one. I, too, was looking at it. Great looking bow. Now I don't have to explain to my wife about it.
You guys are too funny... :saywhat: )
Most of the time I' can intercept the packages and hide them in the man cave before the Mrs gets home. Every now and then she sees me heading to the range and she says is that a new bow? and I say oh no it's just an old one I haven't shot in a while. :readit: :bigsmyl:
When I tell people what I paid for a bow they often forget that I do not have a wife to answer to these days...makes it a lot simpler...works the same for motorcycles and cars, okay toys in general...I spent close to 2500 bucks on bows lately...not every day you are going to come by a Blacktail Snakebit with two sets of limbs or a 64 inch Kodiak Deluxe when you have the money to pay for them...that is actually the price of a new Snakebit with one set of limbs
DDave
A few days ago I bought 2 new arrow rest from a local bow shop, they guy asked if I want the receipt, I simply replied "no, you never save receipts for toys, that's how you get into trouble" the 2 guys behind the counter started laughing and agreed...
I think you're played it about as smart as a man can.
"Yes Dear" sounds a lot like the way every difference of opinion ended when I was married.
Enjoy your bow but love and honor your wife, they are a gift.
God bless,Mudd
There's bound to be trouble when your wife finds out how much you've spent on some Widow......
This old thing? It's been in the closet for years.
I remember times i've heard that one hum maybe i should use that one?
been there
Without pics it didn't happen!!
You will have to wait just like i do for it to be built and sent to me.
Definitely gotta see that one,Ric !!!
See..not touch.
Mike
yes deer!
I spent a chunk-load on a custom "bang stick" and I'm STILL hearing bout it! I feel your pain!
If I get it to the rack undetected it becomes 'what new bow'.
See, you have to find a wife like mine.
Honey see this Bear Take Down bow, I sure would like to have one of them. Next thing I know she's online ordering it. Honey see this 69 Bear Super Kodiak on this auction site boy I'd love one of them, bought it.
Honey see this Wing Red Wing Hunter, bought it
I have to be careful what I say I want or she'll buy me almost anything.
My wife just shakes her head and gives me the "really look". Then I know it is kiss butt time. She always says there is much worse I could be spending money on.
I get that same reaction too Ed but thank goodness my wife is very understanding after being married to me for 26 years. Having one of anything for hunting and fishing just doesn't seem to work well....or at least we think it doesn't. :) I just ordered a new Black Widow longbow a few weeks back after receiving a new Leon Stewart longbow. Does it ever end?
