Over the past few months I have recieved a ton of PMs and emails asking if Brian is still building bows. With the delivery of this Bocote beauty, I can say with authority and first hand experience, the answer is YES!

It is a 62" and 59# @ 28" and FAST!
I have not run it thru the chrono, but I am very confident it will be plenty for anything in North America when I bring it back to my 30" draw.
I can also say with authority and personal experience that Mr. Wessel IS accepting orders because I ordered another one yesterday :goldtooth:
Here is the limb profile:

And a comparison to the regular TT longbow limb:

Good to hear it.
Looks better in the woods and that red stripe sets off the stitching on the Great Northern Kickback Extreme I had.

Excellent checkering as always:

Good looking bow Steve O good luck with it.
I dig it!
I said it looks better out in the woods than laying on the carpet, but it really looks best like this:

Even though it did not arrive that far from my departure date, the Hybrid TT shot so well and was so easy to tune, I decided it would be number one for my trip to South Africa. You can't get much more "southern" than that...
Steve, That's a beauty!!! congratulations!!!!

Hah, Sean, I don't know if you mean the bow or the Waterbuck, but I agree :D
My Waterbuck was killed with one of Larry Hannify's prototype "lightweight" Abowyer Whitetails. I have been trying to kill a cougar for the past two seasons with them so they were all set at 200g (with aluminum adapter) on full length Axis 340s that the Hybrid loved.
The shot was close to 20 yards very late in the day. The big head went thru the top of the heart and out the opposite side. Waterbuck are every bit as big as elk, and this is a very mature and blocky bull. He made a mad dash for 60 yards and I heard a huge thud.

Those 5 guys loaded him into the truck about 3" with each 1-2-3 tug.
Awesome on all counts!
Steve, the waterbuck is a beauty too!!!!
WOW, is that ever a beautiful bow AND waterbuck. Just put myself on the list for a new set of the Hybrid limbs.
Nice job Steve!!!! Congrats on your trip to Africa and I'm looking forward to a full report. And yes Brian is still building bows, mine was checkered this past week and is in the spray booth as we speak.
I mentioned I am confident the Hybrid will work on any North American game. This I know because it handled the largest African antelope without even blinking. My Eland came from a 15 yard tree stand shot. The 200g Abowyer Brown Bear went thru her so fast and quiet, she just hopped up, then walked maybe 40 yards and fell over. The arrow was buried 4" deep into the water hole.

Very cool Steve. Well done.
Congratulations on a beautiful bow and a successful first hunt.

Eland are big. It took a while for the gang to get there and there was no moving that animal for better photos. Hopefully this will illustrate the size better:

Wow your on a roll Steve awesome job!. :clapper:
Always enjoy seeing your latest TT creation. But this is even better with the Africa report!
Congrats all the way around - hoping there are more details to follow!
Good Job Steve, keep the pictures coming. That is a beautiful tall tines also.
Love it! I have a certain hybrid coming from Brian very soon. I can honestly say seeing the bow is awesome...seeing your beautiful animal better. However my friend, there was some pain there for me :) You know why...
Great stuff. Beautiful bow indeed and awesome pics from Africa. Congrats!
Nice pics Steve.
I got to see this bow in person on the trip and it is a dandy. Our PH is a longbow guy and he picked it up and was drilling the 3D target in camp right away.
The PH didn't really like it when Steve and I told him we were using single-bevel, two-blade heads. He preferred a 3 or 4 blade. Since we shot 3 animals with two-blades and the tracking dog never had to leave camp I'd say he's OK with it now!

Nice bow, and great animals! If you need someone to tag along on your next trip, I'm sure I can make myself available. Lol.
As Mick mentioned, our PH shoots a stickbow (in addition to his .458 backup). Between the 4 of us in camp, all we had were TallTines for him to shoot; 6 in all. He took my Hybrid, one of Mick's arrows, and took his very FIRST shot from a solid 25 yards and sunk it right into the heart of the camp warthog target. I was impressed! What was more impressive was I never saw him waver 2" from perfection on any arrow he shot.
He told me to get in touch with Brian and have two Hybrids started, he would get his deposit in as soon as he was done in the bush.
That's great!!!!!!
The camp dog looks like his name would be Half-n-Half.
The Swartz Creek boys do it again.
Way to go Steve and Mick.
Way to go Steve...great pics! You're making me impatient for my hybrid...Ryan
Very cool Steve! Congrats!
I was at Larry's on Friday and saw more of those "prototype heads". they will be in my quiver this fall!
chris <><
Really impressive...the animals and the bow!

" Hunter " was either IN the fire pit or on someone's lap to keep warm whenever we were in camp.

I
almost feel bad all our shots were very deadly and we did not need Hunter's blood trailing services. He became a ferocious and lightning fast warrior when the PH grabbed one of the Kudu pickups in camp and scratched them on the ground. He was a snarling flash and on him before we knew what was happening.
Awesome on all accounts!!
Congrats . Great looking bow
Very nice. More stories please. Is that the mysterious Wensel dude in the background?
So let me get this straight... Hunter, the dog, grabs pickups in camp and scratches them on the ground???
That is one nice looking bow and a great adventure to go along with it.
I have always been a recurve guy but that hybrid is very very nice!
How many of Brian's bows do you own now? You must have a great bow rack!
I have a bonus on the way from work in the next couple of months which might just be ear marked for a Tall Tines.
I am curious if he can do both long bow and recurve limbs on the same riser?

Kyle, I will PM you for more stories. I put the pics in to show the Hybrid could get the job done.
Yes that is Gene. We had a great group of Professional Bowhunters Society members. Mick Parks and Daryl Kempher rounded out the group.

So Uncle B, are we switching spots now? You are proof reading my work?
Hunter was comfy in Daryl's lap. The PH moved off from the fire into the darkness and grabbed one of the pickups and starts making noise with it. The dog was on him in a flash. Seems he bays the animals if they are not dead. I wish we had video of it.
Very nice indeed! The 64" TT LB I have is a great shooter...just getting to know it now, which is sad since I've had it over a year.
I might have to see about getting a set of limbs made for it or maybe a whole new bow!
Glad to see you had fun in SA...that had to be a trip of a lifetime!
Awesome!
Josh

William,
I cannot state publicly how many TTs I have. I have found best to have enough that my wife cannot keep track...
I do have some other high end bows that will be going up for sale soon as they have not been shot in years and odds are will never be shot again. More rooms for TTs.
I know there was an R&D project in the works for the recurve and longbow limbs on the same riser but I have not heard how that is going.
Very, very impressed with this hybrid!
Congratulations on your hunt Steve, that's awesome. The riser wood in your bow is extraordinary, as beautiful as I've ever seen.
MountainTool21--Andrew, your PM box is full.
Excellent....
Steve, Congrats on the critters and a beautiful well shooting bow. I hope to read of these adventures in the next PBS publication.
Yes very cool stuff congrats
Steve,
Looks like a great trip. I'm going to have to try one of those TTs.
Really good stuff Steve O. Hope to read some of the stories in the P.B.S. mag.
Congrats to you and the guys you went hunting with Steve. Sounds and looks like a great trip.
