Ive tried 3 under and split fingers and much prefer split fingers. I was playing around today and thought why not flag the ring finger? Started shooting and its early days but it seams comfortable and no less accurate. So as I have very limited access to other trad shooters to ask, many of you lot shoot two fingers like the old English archers?
I shoot two fingers under, index and third finger, a lot...I have tried index above and third below, which I have heard called a Flemish release, but never worked with it much...it seems to me that style of release is the most logical and thanks for reminding me to work on it...I make tabs for two under by inverting a Cavalier Elite tab for the opposite hand and then cutting off the leather and aluminum I do not need...I shoot both right and left handed that way...the truth is I would shoot one finger under if I had the finger strength required...it just seems reasonable to me that the less there is in contact with the string the cleaner the release, kind of like a mechanical release

I shoot two fingers under, index and middle finger. I find that it's more comfortable and I have cleaner releases.
I have wondered the same thing about shooting two fingers and the advice for me was, if it's comfortable for you, go for it
I shoot middle and ring finger under with deep hooks, index finger resting lightly on top of the shaft. It pretty much eliminates finger pinch and provides a very clean consistent release.
I shoot two under, index and middle. I've shot middle and ring but couldn't find a consistent anchor point and it kinda hurt in a carpal tunnel kind of way.
I was a 3 under shooter till I injured my ring finger and switched to 2 under, liked it better and stayed that way.
I have shot split two for a few years and it has worked out well for me.
I shoot Middle and ring finger split, but really have no choice! I get a nice clean release though.
I shoot two split
