Title: Bear Bow recall?
Post by: Jon Stewart on July 01, 2014, 03:00:00 PM
Anyone know what year Bear recalled their bows (what models)and then made key chains out of the tips?

And maybe why they were recalled?

I believe some Bears were recalled that had a lamination of aluminum in their construction that did not hold up well.

For the 1963 doglegs, it's my understanding that any issue only applied to the 1963 Kodiak Mag. The 1963 Cub, Grizzly and Kodiak and just fine and still shot frequently. At least that's what I've heard from the most knowledgeable collectors and is my experience. I've owned both 1963 Grizzly's and Kodiak's and find the 1963 Kodiak to be one of the best shooting Kodiak's ever made. And if you can find a 1963 Kodiak with a great wood grain, they have some of the most spectacular looking risers to come out of Grayling.
