Well in less than 2 weeks, i'll be headed for my first trad bow camp...since i'm the newbie of the group I thought I should take something to share. I had a friend make this sign up, and will let the guys draw for it.
I was gonna put the year on it, but thought maybe we should all sign the back instead...

Start packing? My stuff is in my truck already ready to go!! Come on October!!
Thanks Guys...he did do a good job on it.
LOL, and I felt silly as I was packing over the weekend nice to know I wasn't the only one.
I might be up earlier if come October 1st they shut State gov't down... :knothead: :help:
Great idea Drew! I think I might find something worth raffling off as well. I know when Whitebuffalo did that for our first rabbit hunt it went over awesome! It did not hurt that I won a shoulder mount :bigsmyl:
drew....can i use that board to smack jason when he starts snoring..... by the way, i got the camp permits from the dnr... they were very quick to send them....steve
Sounds like I better bring some extra asprin for Jason! LOL!!
AUUUGGGHHH,,you fellas are brutal,,I just see it now,,all is quite except me,,SNOORRRR<
Nice sign drew,,we'll hang it up at camp,,do you have any pics of the day when we were up there,,If so can you post some,,especially that one of Steve doing the no,no in the woods,,LOL,,When we were sneaking on the squirells and a particular sound echo's through the beautiful northern woods,,
I too started to get things toghether,,LOL can't wait and with the deer sign we found on sunday I'm geeked about the early season there,,I might go up this weekend for a quick look around south of there by the high banks again,,
Jason....the only reason i had the phone with me is because i knew you'd get lost trying to find drew and i at the camping spot.....lolllllll! :jumper:
Man is it time to leave yet?
LOL!!!!!! :jumper:
Hey,, I have an idea,, how about a trading blanket for the five of us,, I got some stuff I could bring,, nothing major but it would neet to see what shows up,,J
Pitching in at deer camp is part of the whole process in my opinion. Shrewhaven Lodge started in a borrowed cabin. Now there is "our" own cabin down on the creek that has been remodeled and improved. After the official name was given to camp, one of my buddies and I had a sign carved from cedar with "Shrewhaven Lodge" on it that resides on the outside wall of the cabin. Ron LaClair is the owner of the camp, but the other five of us make sure that we pitch in financially and with our backs to make a place that is special for us all.
Enjoy your camp. I hope it prospers to the level of what started out for me over 15 years ago.
I may need to call that same cell phone when I get lost finding camp again...so i'll just forget about that pic.
If Jason snores that bad i'm camping down by the river in the lower part :D
That south part did look nice didn't it?
Can't wait guys.. :archer:
If jason keeps up his snoring..i say we all just throw him in the muskegon river...that will wake him up...
If Jason's snoring keeps us up I say we give him a visit from a friendly snake. I am sure I can wrangel up a few before heading up there. I say if we let one of those babies crawl down inside his sleeping bag with him I dont think he would sleep the rest of the trip!!
im in for the trading blanket.....ive got some things to get rid of...especially some pretty pastel feathers for Leroy..... Leroy, tim, drew, are you in??????
I like that Drew. Nice!!
I dont have anything that I can think of that I am looking to get rid of. I will do some looking and see what I can come up with.
Just give the snorer a big kiss on the lips before going to sleep. He will stay up all nite on resd alert.Kip
Drew: That's a classy touch. I'm sure your friends will be glad you are part of their tradition. I'm envious.
Here in Oregon, our first season closed Sunday. Didn't get out as it was so dry and hot. Second season opens in November.
I don't have much traditional stuff either for a trading blanket...unless JB wants to give up those aluminum stump shooting arrows I was going to give him? and those even those need to be refletched.
Thanks for all the complements on the sign!
put them in the blanket,,I've got a few things I could get around,,J
Man I'm putting long hours at the shop,,I can't wait till I can set foot up there again and for at least a few days, forget they concrete hellfire jungle,,work,,traffic,,can't wait fellas,,be there soon now,,J
