I usually pack my arrows up the mountain with a easton adjustable light weight arrow holder then attach a bolt on style quiver set up in base camp. There was a post back sometime ago about packing arrows but I could not locate it. Now, I switched bows to a Robertson Wolfer with offset limbs so I do not want to use a bow quiver for fear of impending the working limbs. I thought about buying a safari tuff and attaching it to my pack with the compression straps. Has anyone done this?
I have a couple times, Tim. It worked pretty well. I'm sending you a pm.
Yep, it works just fine!!
Anyone have pictures showing how this is done?
Thanks.
What do you do when you remove your pack to make a stalk? That has always been my issue when considering a pack mounted quiver. I always hunt with a pack- its really necessary out here if you want to go deep and not worry about the weather changes etc and take out a load of meat that first trip back...

Joshua,
If you're using compression straps, it'll take just seconds to undo them and sling over your neck/shoulder and carry as intended. I prefer a bow quiver, but had no issues with the Safari Tuff.
I do not see the advantage of strapping this quiver to the pack. It rides right by your side while packing, so what am I not seeing here? :dunno:
I wear mine with a day pack and I don't have any issues shooting with the set-up. I do not strap mine to the pack but the carabiner on the Safari Tuff hooks onto my hip strap and the shoulder strap hooks under the hydration tube hook on the shoulder strap of my back pack. This keeps it in place and out of my way.
I wear my Safari Tuff with a day pack all the time. Put the day pack on and the Safari Tuff on over it. The quiver lays along my right side without an issue. If I need to drop my pack and stalk it's not a big deal to do that and put the quiver back on. The only adjustment you may need it to change the length of your shoulder strap.

My intention is to strap it to my pack with compression straps. Maybe my bow will fit in there to. When I set up my bivy, the top of my pack becomes a fanny pack and I can strap on the quiver and hunt. My pack stays in my bivy camp.
