I headed out to a favorite stretch of trout water that is a little hard to get to. When I got there and topped a hill that overlooks the stream, the fishing trip turned into an impromptu early elk scouting foray. Cows and calves were in abundance, and I enjoyed watching them for about a half hour before doing any fishing. Did I mention that this is in my elk area come September? These elk could be in the next county by the season, but it sure was gratifying to see them doing what elk do in elk 'nurseries'.
What a sight! Beautiful.
And the fishing...?

Did not see a single a turkey the times I went out this spring to try to shoot one. Saw two broods with their mamas yesterday when I had to go out to pull a wheel off a tractor.....
