Title: Bear TD with 8 arrow side mount/arm

The bow has a bushing in the handle and a spring arm on the upper limb at the latch. Is this still a good  setup, or what do you like?

That is a great set up. If your bow is well tuned and everything is properly tightened it will be very quiet and secure. I like the 4 arrow version of that set up for my older Bear TDs. For the new ones with two quiver inserts, I like the Bighorn quiver from Cutting Edge Products.

It's a great set-up. I've used it for years. On 1 piece bows, I'll use a double spring arm.
