just received a beautiful osage selfbow from Joe Weed (Osagetree) and a awesome quiver from Mr. Vic. the bow is an osage flat bow that pulls around #60-65 pounds@28'. it is a fast, hard hitting work of art named War Dog. this is the bow that will be with me Sept 27 for the NY opening day. i can't say enough about this bow, have been shooting it all weekend and it is something else! critters beware!! the quiver you have to see to believe and will be a constant partner to War Dog as i got them the same week. Vic made a quiver of many lessons that were sent to me by the Creator and his children, it is breath taking! words can't describe what the story tells on this quiver, it is a work of art. i took both out scouting today and here are a few pic's.

Wow! Ken, those are awesome. You are blessed my friend. There are some great spirits attached to those two pieces of work.
two awesome pieces of functional artwork....
Great pics bro. Ya know you forgot to show us that meat clever on your belt :bigsmyl: <><
Real nice. You are a lucky man.
if i was not so dam tired i would have elaborated a bit more! i was scouting one of my favorite areas, the last picture although you can't tell is where i'm kneeling underneath a rock overhang that forms a small shelter, it is very neat and brings a feel of the days of old. the picture of the quiver and bow against the rock is by a small rock fire place on top of a huge rock cliff. the rock they are leaning against is just in back of the fire place and makes a perfect chair to sit and ponder. i wonder how many others have pondered upon that rock?? the knife in the sheath is a big bowie that i carry often, especially during bear season which is open!! heres a pic.

Beautiful Gear.
Did you make the Toad Sticker??
Daniel
nope, good friend of mine did. false edge is REALLY sharp but main blade was left with just a good edge for marking and hacking.
Dang,,, you could kill a bear with that knife! I'd throw that yellow stick down and draw the knife if a bear was charging me!
that some serious stuff you have there Ken,good luck with it in the upcomming season.
Great lookin gear! It should serve you well this season and many more.
Ken : That bow and quiver are awesome and couldn't have found a better home anywhere my brother :0) Drew
Amazing work! Congratulations!
That's great! Ya looking good brother.
Joe,
i do not consider myself anywhere near a great shot so i limit my range to 20 yards and under however i seem to shoot this bow VERY well. i took 3 shots from the stand i will be hunting in this weekend. shots from around 7, 15 and around 22 yards were all dead nuts! i am VERY confident with this bow and look very forward to this weekend, i hope to do ya proud if i get the chance. as for the knife it is very special to me as it came from a big buck i took waaaaaay back in the mountains when i was 19. he was the king of the hill, his antlers were thick as a baseball bat and very wide. when the mood strikes me and i feel i have held it long enough it will be yours as i bet you could make a few good bows with it. i'm very thick headed so don't bother telling me to keep it!! :readit: :knothead: might be a year might be 10 but it will make it your way eventually! :archer:

Sweet gear!
Nothing like taking your friends to special places with you. You will be carrying some real great ones along. Cherish every memory you make with them.
yes, i will have great company with me and memories last forever!
Ken, Nice rig. How does that sheath attach to your belt?
JPW
its a mountainman style sheath with a slit for your belt that holds sheath and case against your side keeping everything very secure and at the ready. its my favorite style sheath.
Ken, that's Big Medicine :clapper:
:bigsmyl: ;)
