Hey guys I just checked the trail cameras and wanted to share some pictures. I have been seeing lots more bucks than I have does which is good I guess?? I suspect the does may be off with their fawns but I'm not sure. Last year I had on average 3-5 does for every buck caught on camera; this year is almost the exact opposite!
So here we go, here are some of the nicer/unique deer on my farm.
Side note: all pictures were taken within 200 yards of my house.
ALL Dates and times are incorrect.
Here is the first group of nice younger bucks. I would presume 2 1/2 year olds? Not shooters yet but good seeds for the years ahead.

The buck in the center frame looks very old because of his wrinkly skin and barrel chest but I could be wrong.

Here is a cool little buck named droopy. His right side drops off the side of his head. If he was an older deer I would consider hunting him but he is just a young buck. He will be pretty neat in a few years!

And here is the bruiser. I named this buck gladiator because his brow tines remind me of swords. I think he is 3.5-4.5 but I'm not sure? either way with a few months to grow still he should be very large by the time October comes around.

These are the nice deer as of now. I need to get my food plots in and get my other camera put out. I am getting very excited for this fall! Enjoy SS
Looking good.
The itch has hit me bad today after looking at a few post with trail camera photos with some great antler growth.
Looks good to me too.
They're all shooters to me
Looks like a good year for you. :archer2:
yup they look real good. i hope ya have a good season
Nice deer, look healthy. Good luck. That last buck is a stud for sure.
They look tasty. Doesn't hurt that they appear to be growing respectable handles for dragging them out.
Nice pictures! Thank you for sharing!
The deer of summer.
Cull the one with the bad right antler. Let the rest go....IF YOU CAN!
:biglaugh:
Easier said than done, right??
All look good.
What is the guess on the age of the last deer? Am I correct at 3-4?
On the farm we try to manage a 3+ year old on any deer harvested no matter the sex.
I would guess that last one at4.5 or older. Notice the loose skin on his front end and at the base of his neck. That's a big, mature deer, IMO.
I tend to agree with Todd on the last buck. Sniper, If you are correct, and your Doe numbers are down, I would anticipate hunting those bucks in the early season. Although there are exceptions, a buck in his prime will generally congregate in areas with the heaviest number of Does toward rut. I would try to tag him when he's still on his summer pattern if at all possible! Just a helpful thought, as you may know your herds behaviors and patterns much better than I. Nice deer- best of season to you.
I think you have to many, and you need help thinning them out.
