With no Traditional shoot going on this past weekend (one of the few) I put a call out to some Traditional buddies and we got together Sunday afternoon at a local Sportsmans club.
Lori and I met Jackdaw,Tim, Mahantango and his son Ethan. We paid up,strung the bows and headed out for a little shooting. Come check it out.....

We don't always shoot from the stake, especially if it is crazy far. But we do utilize a seat if at all possible. Ethan coming to full draw...

This club offers 22 targets for $8.00 and we were the only ones out on it. You shoot the first 9 on one side of the road. #9 is out of a tree stand at a huge Bull Elk. Who can resist a tree stand???
Here is Jackdaw putting it all together......

10 thru 22 take you down and into the woods, lots of shot angles, just like the real deal. You eventually break out into a field and we caught this Caribou right at the edge. Here is my better half doing her thing.......

Steve Sheriff and I shot Carlisle on Sunday. Good shoot as always. Quite a few stick shooters too. More stick than wheel shooters.
Yup...grand fun....great friends...!
Looks like a good time by all. :archer2:
Looks like a good time. When there are no trad shoots we are lucky to have plenty of clubs running shoots every weekend in the area. Even got a few during the week to got to for $5 for 15 targets. Never get to crowded except for holidays.
Great way to spend an afternoon. Thanks for sharing.
Looks like a fun time on a great afternoon!
I shoot somewhere nearly every weekend. I join every club I shoot at. Several of them are too far away for me to help much, but I figure my membership fees can help them buy a new target or something.

Can I ask what club that was? I would love to take my wife to something like that. One of these days I hope to make it to a big trad shoot.
Great time! Thanks again Craig. We really enjoyed shooting with you guys.
Like always... Great photos Craig!
See you at Sawmill... :archer2: ...

Looks like a good time. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing the great pics!!! Looks like it was lots of fun.
Thanks guys. The club is Keystone Fish & Game, just outside of Sunbury a few miles off of Rt 61.
Very close to Shamokin area,Dornsife,Herndon etc. A very nice local club that gives archers a lot of opportunity to get some practice in.
Good Shooting,
Craig
Nice pictures. Yes, support your local clubs. I have been a member of a local archery club for more years than I can remember, but our club is closing as of June 30--too few members, too little support of our shoots and rising operating costs. The club has existed for 35 years. It is a sad thing to lose it.
