I have a new Tall Tines on order and it should be getting close to glue up, and I have a piece of nice Chechen on reserve for the riser, but I'm having trouble making up my mind on limbs. I don't want myrtle limbs, yeah they pretty, but I feel like it's too common. Thinking of using yew limbs with Macassar riser stripe and accents? I also am considering using the same woods but just sticking to a black glass limb?
If anyone has anything with these woods and would post up a pic I would appreciate it or I'm open to suggestions.
I like your idea of the yew and macassar
I just got some mango from Curt. No bow yet...its coming but mango is purdy.
The Yew is a good idea,it won't show flaws in the glass like a dark veneer would.
Give me clear glass. I did order a second pair of Brandon Stahl Limbs for a Bear TD, with clear glass and bamboo. But thought about a nice veneer. The first set, clear glass and bamboo were in stock and ready for delivery. Considered Black with maple for the second set. Why hide a nice wood under black glass?
Bastogne walnut or carpathian elm burl!
I am a color glass guy myself. Nothing jerks my chain more than when you kick out some serious coin for fancy veneers and clear glass only to have the glass get those milky white streaks going on.
Give me black or brown.
Good Shooting,
Craig
How about a lighter colored red elm ? Or lighter colored cherry ?
